They make great stuff! Clio is one of the regulars in the rotation. How did you think the El Nido compares?

Nice! Let me know when I'll bring some Alexander Valley Silver Oak!

Picked this up last March when we did a wine tour/tasting. Interesting as I had no clue a small block reserve Malbec grew on Mt. Veeder.

We also joined their wine club at that time and we are enjoying their wines.

the 2016 PC is killer, it doesn't need as much time as its first growth cousins but I'm sitting mine down for a few more years, how was this one? How long before dinking did you open it?

Agreed. Never disappointed with PC. It was solid, took about an hour and a half in the decanter to really come around tho - pretty backwards. A great vintage all-around.

For anyone wanting some good deals - go to Wine Berserkers - they have their anniversary day (aka Berserker Day). Tons of offers at discounted pricing.

This really is quite marvellous. Probably one of these best South African wines I have tried. Am going to order 2 cases of the 2015 tomorrow and will tuck one away for a few years.

Gorgeous Cab!

Where are you ordering South African wines from? Vinyard or a imported shipping to USA?

Thanks Roger!

This Chardonnay was very good for $25. If you like Rombauer you will like this. Creamy, oaky with just the right amount of butter and the malo-lactic fermentation makes this delicious. Reccomend!

I live in London. But if you can get hold of the Kanonkop Paul Sauer in the US I would definitely give it a try. The two good recent vintages are 2015 (which is priced high now because it scored 100 points and the 2017 which is a lot cheaper but still superb). Needs more bottle age but a good decant helps.

Anyone use one of these? Just picked it up and already used it on a screw cap sauvignon blanc (It has an adapter cap). Apparently, you can take a glass from the bottle and the cork closes back up. The wine you take is replaced with argon. 20210202_182421.jpg

Drinking the first of several bottles of the Wirra Wirra McLaren Vale Shiraz 2012. McLaren Vale is a wine growing region that is located some 30 klms south of the South Australian city of Adelaide.
Wine has been grown here since 1838 and the region is regarded as having a "Mediterranean" climate and specialises in Shiraz as well as several Mediterranean varities.
This particular wine has benefited from some cellaring and is probably drinking at the top of it's window. Bold and intense with a 'stewed plumb' character, good balance and enough acid to keep it feeling 'alive'. A wine like this every now and then provides a good balance to younger wines and keeps the palate alert.

I didn't think it was possible for me to prefer Grenache over Syrah, but Krankl has made it so...
