If you had a Trilogy Speedy, which 3861 would you go for?

I have a Trilogy Speedmaster that I totally enjoy. Love the size and vintage vibes.

I have always wanted a moonwatch and with the new release, this is the one I’ve been waiting for.

My question - if you had the Trilogy, which moonwatch would you go for - the sapphire (310.30.42.50.01.002) or hesalite (310.30.42.50.01.001).

This is not a which one is better question but which one would you like to complement the Trilogy. Any views welcome!

The trilogy has a hesalite crystal, correct, and a normal case back?

Pretty sure your answer is the sandwich!

Thanks and indeed Trilogy is hesalite and closed case back. Yeah leaning towards Sapphire moonwatch for this reason, just to make it a different UX

Go Sapphire unless you are really into the hesalite. I'm wearing the 3861 hesalite and love it.
Since you bought a trilogy though maybe you'd prefer to stay classic with a hesalite?

Curious, anyone know if the Trilogy co-axial bracelet will fit the 1861? Both are 20mm lugs

Exactly this. On the one hand, I like the way hesalite captures light on my trilogy so why mess with something I know I appreciate. OTOH, since I have one that is purist and vintage already, it’s also thus exciting to go modern on the moonwatch. And I like the applied logo too.

Thanks for the thoughts!

Yeah, for me that would be the way to go. Sapphire for that, and a nice hesalite on the trilogy.

As others have said the sapphire would offer some difference.

If you like the milky look of the Sapphire crystal, that's the one to go for. Other than the applied logo, I would go Hesalite as the brushed bracelet is a winner!!!

BTW...your watch is a beauty!!!

The sapphire version is the obvious choice.

It's not an easy call. But I will go for the Sapphire.

The correct pair will be definitely the 3861 sapphire.

Congrats on yours!

Sapphire makes sense to pair with Trilogy, if you’re inclined to add another Speedy. For myself, if I had a trilogy, that’d be enough Speedies for me — very satisfying watch! As it is, I currently have a Hesalite 1861 and feel Speedy-content. Best wishes.

As others have already said...

You should get one or the other!

I think the hesalite is different enough to have both. Despite the beautiful caseback I'm not a big fan of the sapphire myself.

I think Sapphire is the way. I've poly watch'd my Hesalite 10 times in the 6 months I had it lol.

Thanks all! I think best thing is for me to see both in the metal side by side. My sense is I will lean sapphire but who knows. Thanks everyone for the interesting perspectives!
