Disney Memories and Memorabilia

Last week, on an incredible 91 degree January day in Orange County, California, we got to stop by Disneyland for the first time in several years. It was pretty neat at Disney. We saw the parking lot where a huge vaccine distribution was taking place. Disney is helping save countless lives.

Downtown Disney was open. You couldn't eat or drink on property but some places were open for take out. Merchandise stores were open. We went into the huge World of Disney store. Disneyland was completely closed. California Adventure was open and you could enter for free. No rides were open but you could go on the property and see the stores that were open to sell merchandise. Lots of people there. It was unique to see. We really enjoyed it.

Today I got a really neat Disneyland 65th Anniversary magnet and Mickey Mouse T-shirt.

Do you have any neat Disney memories or memorabilia?

I'm so old, I remember when Tomorrowland seemed futuristic.

We live in Northern California and had season passes the last few years. We typically would fly down 4-5 times a year. Our family cannot wait until Disney opens back up.

Thanks for posting, Shaun. My GF worked for Disneyworld for 8 years, then transferred to Disneyland to work for 2 years. Our first year together she took me to Disneyland 5 times on the mouse......errrrr....house! Lol

Paul,

I grew up in Cypress, Orange County, California, about a 20 minute drive to Disneyland and maybe 10 minutes to Knotts Berry Farm.

In the 70s/80s Disneyland was fundamentally different than what it has become. It was much smaller and not nearly as crowded. It's worldwide franchise of interests today is huge and encompassing.

As far as Tomorrowland, I remember the Monsanto ride that had a view of passengers shrunk down to miniature size from when I was a child!

Being From O.C. I used to have a rather large original Attraction Poster collection... ORIGINAL.

all of them were sold off unfortunately... for a pretty penny mind you. getting rid of them (even for profit) are one of the real regrets I have in my life.

Thanks for your comment.

I looked them up on eBay and original Attraction posters seem to go from $100 to $15,000. I had no idea that they were that much.

Just found this neat ticket and pin I was given in 2009 at Disneyland when it was free to attend on your Birthday!

I remember those well. I still use the phrase, "That was a E ticket experience" and nobody knows what I'm talking about.

I drive through the World Center for Rat Worship on my way to work in Celebration. EPCOT is fun for drinking around the world, Disney is good for nostalgia, but Animal Kingdom is the best Disney Park.

My GF says her favorite park is Epcot. She loves SoCal much more than Florida but believes that Disneyworld and the other parks combined are much better than Disneyland and California Adventure.

I hope I get to visit the Florida parks one day!
