I put a deposit on a 911 today

The 911 has always been my dream car. Today sight unseen (other then pictures) I put a deposit on a 911 located on the west coast. I'm both excited and scared at the same time.
it's a 2013 Carrera S and the price is $66k. Next week it will go out for a pre purchase inspection and afterwards if all goes well I'm going to be a Porsche owner.
While the price will not affect our financials it's still scary for me to pull the trigger on a $70k car. I already bought RE at these prices but still - ITS A CAR!

Anyways just putting a picture out here. The MSRP for the car was a whopping $144K.

I am thinking enclosed trailer. I don't want to put the miles on the car and on myself.

Sexy car. Enjoy and well deserved for having the means to purchase one. The 911 is timeless, just like a quality watch. Happy driving!

Awesome and congratulations! 144k is a highly optioned MSRP for that year and model. I had the same car and always miss it.

Congrats !

I strongly considered a 2013 911S last spring, and I still wonder about my decision to pass for another car.

Huge congrats. It’s a hell of a car. And will hold t’s value fairly well. You will also get enormous satisfaction driving it.

It’s a legend for a reason.

What’s a RE tho?

Congrats! I had a 2013 C2 and it was a glorious car. Not a single issue. I daily drove it for two years putting on about 30k miles. I ended up picking up a 992 this year but I very seriously considered a 991 as it was that good. Enjoy many safe miles

Drive it back!

I had a 911 C4S and put 35,000 miles a year on it, a truly brilliant car.

Enjoy it and don’t be afraid to use it.

I wanted a naturally aspirated car that was relatively modern so that put me on the 991.1 or 997.2 range. The 997.2 have dated interiors and potential problems with the IMS bearing. Afterwards I started looking at price, the 997.2 and the 991.1 are very close in price, in some cases you will see 997.2 that are even more expensive then 991.1 because they weren't manufactured in the same quantities as the 991.1.
I chose the Carrera S trim because it was just the right amount of power for the price. The Carrera base is also less desirable in resale, and although I plan to drive the car until the wheels fall off - who knows maybe one day I will choose to sell.
