What a beautiful car. And since you’re in my neck of the woods if you’d like me to test drive it for you to make sure everything‘s OK just let me know.

Congrats but you are missing the opportunity to drive it on some of the best roads ever that won’t come close to anything in Florida. Unless you just can’t find the time I highly recommend you drive it back.

Congrats, quick question...is the picture the actual car? If yes, after PPI ask a lot of questions regarding the PCCBs. It can be an expensive cost/repair, make sure you have all measurements and indicators before finalizing the deal. If standard Red/steel brakes, no worries, learn to love the squeak!

Secondarily, not worth stressing...sometimes stock photos won’t show swirl marks and marring. If anyone offers to take a look, may not hurt to taken them up on it. A simple iPhone light can reveal if you have a $1,000+ detail on your to do list. Reason I say this is, some owners let the dealers do the detail, and or post service wash and a bit of superficial paint/clear coat damage happens as the crews (often well intended) make some mistakes.

I chose the Carrera S trim because it was just the right amount of power for the price. The Carrera base is also less desirable in resale, and although I plan to drive the car until the wheels fall off - who knows maybe one day I will choose to sell.
Thanks makes sense. Enjoy !

Congratulations! A Porsche 911 one of the best cars for every day use. I’ve owned a 1987 air cooled Carrera Super Sport for 15 years and it’s been a total joy. I rarely drive it now but I just can’t bring myself to part with it.

Congratulations! If it’s the southern route across the country(I -10) then I’d trailer it. That drive stinks.

Great car, you are going to need a Daytona now. Put the vin in this site and you can pull options on car.

That is the actual car, yes it comes with PCCB and thanks for the tip, I will definitely make sure the PCCB has a lot of life in them. If used on day to day use the rotors can last more than 200k miles so I'm hoping they are in good condition.

I put a deposit on a 911 today

Congrats - my first one was preowned 911SC Targa back in the ‘70’s.

If you’re new to rear-engined power (despite the better handling with PSM) I recommend a few school sessions to get the best experience when you have it back home. Sebring beckons...

As for the brakes...well it’s a pill to swallow sooner or later. If anyone is getting 200K real world then they’re not driving the car the way it was bred to run.

Make sure you have some kind of legit warranty on the PDK transmission (if so equipped). If it breaks, you will be in a world of financial pain.

Very nice!! I have a little experience with this as I have a 2013 Carrera S Cabriolet and love it. If its a CPO that’s a big bonus. CONGRATS!!

Congrats on the new ride. Mileage on the car? There was a stop sale for cars with sport Chrono. Not sure if there still is. Probably emission related in sport plus mode. Don't quote me on that though.

I had a 991.1 C2S PDK coupe from new from 2013 to 2020. >50,000 miles. Car is solid when I traded it in. I got 47% of the MSRP back.

If this is a CPO from a Porsche dealer, that would be fantastic.

Two little minor things that my car had when I traded it in. Things that can be easily missed during the CPO process.

Make sure both the little white minute and hour hands are still on the sport Chrono clock. My minute hand fell off.

Tilt the spoiler up and test to make sure the middle stop light underneath it works. The wire gets pinched from the auto deploying spoiler and the light can work intermittently. There will be a dash error message. But the error message only pops up when the spoiler is up while the brake pedal is depressed.

Good that you are aware of the issues with PCCB. There should be lots of pads left unless the car is tracked hard. Make sure there is no chip on the rotors. And make sure whoever takes the wheels off know not to chip the rotors. As you may know, a pad and rotor replacement is a 5 figure job at the dealer.

Get some form of extended warranty if possible for the PDK. Any issue is replacement, not repair. Some people also have issues with dynamic engine mounts.

Rennlist is the place to go for lots of info.

Good luck and enjoy!

Thanks for the detailed post.
34,300 miles. The stop sale just gets me more worked up on getting the sports chrono. The Sports Chrono clock has both hands on it as I can see from the pics. I'm getting a Fidelity Platinum warranty to hopefully deal with any issues that may or may not come up.
The PPI is done at a reputable mechanic that services Porsche's so I would expect him to know how to deal with the ceramic breaks.

This is a remote purchase so I'm really hoping things work in my favor and I won't miss anything I would have seen if I was there.

Wow, congrats! That’s awesome.

By the way, wasn’t the IMS issue for the 997.1 (and 996) not the 997.2 (which has the same engine as the 991.1)?

IMS was concerning 997.1 and 997.2

997.2 went to Direct Injection eliminating the IMS issue.

Just for fun, here is what I spy/ guess are the specs:

Agate grey
PCCB
Carrera classic wheels (?)
Wheel centre caps Porsche crest in colour
Full leather interior
18 way seats
Metal sun roof
Sport design steering wheel
Sport chrono
PSE in chrome
Window trim painted in gloss black
Side mirrors painted
Parking sensors
Headlight washer nozzles painted in exterior colour
Rear model deletion
Porsche entry and drive (probably part of premium/ plus package)

Nice spec. Without interior pics, that’s the best I can do. Am I close?
