So, is it considered fake?

http://cgi.ebay.com/RARE-Rolex-Subma...d=p3286.c0.m14

Here it is? I think it is a fake or misrepresented.

The serial number says 5.6mil, but that would make it a 1978 series and it has WG surrounded hour markers???????

I didn't think those were release until the 7mil series or later. Am I wrong?

your thinking of the 16800 subs-the 5513 however had surrounds long before that.
the hands on this one are not correct though-other than that its a nice example.
cheers,
steve

1978 Submariner 5513's did not have the white gold surrounded hour markers. You are correct on your assumption mfer.

Maybe mentioned already but I thought in 1978 the oyster bracelet was still riveted. Clarification?

Not necessarily, depends when the watch finally made it to market. A 1978 vintage might have been released as late as 1980, 1981 or 1982. That vintage 93150 band on the watch is the first generation band which is evidenced by the notch on the side of the clasp.

Look to the left of where the two pink lines intersect in the attached photo, you can observe the notch in the clasp.

The dial does not appear correct though, it is a mid to late 80's dial.

Err buddies...Orchi concurs with buddy Springer on issues with the watch...

Also the fact that...one of the Endlinks is WRONG...!

Orchi for one does NOT like the watch...as it should have a Matte Dial...
