Tudor ranger 7996/0 - feedback please
Hi all,
I recently picked this up. I have done my research (though likely bare compared to the experts here) and think its okay but keen to get some validation. The serial number is a little odd - its very hard for me to make out but thought the Rose 7996 would have to be around the 1966/1967 period. thanks in advance. For some reason, can't seem to embed images now...the links. https://ibb.co/bvNvDJ2 https://ibb.co/FsK6vgZ |

The small rose started right around late 58 as the large rose was being phased out and it stayed in production through early 68 roughly when the shield was introduced.

Fonts look correct. What is the serial? Looks OK and that handset minute style SOMETIMES shows up with Rose on older 7966. 56xK ish?

thanks gents for the quick reply.
I honestly cannot decipher the serial - its been partly rubbed by the old bracelet. Would a 2 in front of it make any sense? Seems too early right? I might need to get my eyes checked. |

Gilt minute track, white serif font and it looks right. My concern is the hand which may be replaced.
The rose 7996 from 1966/67 are rare and good catch! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

thanks guys. I think it might actually start with a 6 but most of the serial is illegible..
yeah the hands dont quite match the dial but the flaring minute hands do exist on the rose 7996 as far as I have research. nice little roulette datewheel too! |

There is not suppose to be a Ranger with the rose symbol ever made.

There is Rose logo 7996 Ranger for sure and they were made around 1966/67. It is rare one as said earlier. I know collectors who are owning it:)

I had read a year or two later that they were fake. I just couldn't believe the patined lume on my watch was fake. Glad I didn't sell it. |
