Air King 116900 AD Availability

Anyone purchased recently?

I cant bring myself to buy at over list for this model!

Also if I buy out of state (Im in SC) is it tax free?

Any recent experiences it be great to hear from you

This model has been on my radar for a long time but I feel the need to get closer to making a decision on buying my first and last Rolex (honestly..dont laugh!)

Checked with AD last week and they noted they had not seen one in months. Not sure how others are but I know overall Rolex’s supply is low everywhere

You can pick one up literally for a £300/500 above retail brand new in box.

Just do it and safe yourself the hassle it’s actually one of the only Rolex watches worth buying on the grey market if you want it new.

I actually got mine from AD (first time ever) last year I love it very very under rated watch not sure why it’s so cheap in comparison with others I highly recommend it. The dial is a stunner especially when the sunlight hits they green right.

Managed to negotiate one from Watchfinder in the first lockdown for £25 under list with some stickers still on it. Was just over two years old. In 2018 I used to see these in shop windows. Have been on a list for over a year and gave up when I got this deal.

I called the AD I normally use about a month ago and expressed interest in the Air-King. Two weeks later, got the call! It's now on my wrist. It's a great watch and currently prices are good. However, I have a sneaky feeling this will not be the case in a few months, be quick.

Waited four months for mine and received February 2020. It's a big solid hulk of stainless steel!

I purchased mine last year at the AD before the price hike...stocks are low as most ADs don’t get many SS. I would consider DavidSW...once you factor in the sales tax it’s less than a 10 percent premium. This watch will either get updated or discontinued next year with the new 3200x movement along with the it’s more polished cousin the Milgause.

This and the daytona are needing a update to keep up with the rest of the lineup so better get one while you still can at a reasonable price. Pay a grey a few hundred extra and get it.

I bought one in March after waiting a couple of weeks. Didn’t end up loving it due to the heft and sold it to Chase at Nashville Watch. If you want a nearly new one, I believe it’s still available on his website. :)

What’s a fair price on a 2nd hand 2019 dated watch that is just missing the instruction booklet?

£5500 would be a fair price I think in today’s market. Such a great value for money Rolex.

Thanks that’s what I was thinking. Always wanted one just figured I can get one cheaper than through the ad. I wonder how these do once the model is discontinued

Here on the forum they have a couple for sale. The current MSRP is 6450.00. I got mines in April 2019 from a grey new full set at MSRP which was $200.00 less than now. Not sure about the wait at a AD since I got both AK & DJ41 from grey. My first Rolex and I love it for being different. Put it on a Everest and looks and feels great.. Good luck..

They been going up in price, not dropping. You might find one cheaper preowned maybe, but I don't thing you'll find it cheaper full set. All depends on your luck, right time, right place..

No. The numbers are not lumed. Only the hour, minute, dot on the second hand and the Rolex triangle are lume. Go to the Rolex website and click on the AK, it will show you the lume on the watch...

Literally walked into an AD yesterday to inquire about some tudors and walked out with a 40mm air king. I was shocked.

Any AD you buy from will assess tax. Very few will allow you to ship it to a now dwindling list of tax free states where you’ll need to know someone to receive your $10k plus shipment

Is the Air-King and the Milgauss the same size/same case?

Yes, its the same movement and case however AK bracelet is fully brushed while Milgauss has polished centerlinks and of course the dials/hands are different. AK has the mercedes hand. Again, this is the best buy in the entire line IMO.

Just picked up AK from London AD window today.

Any UK based people thinking to get one now it's probably the time - usually watches are coming in batches so I would expect these to be available in other UK AD windows right now

It might be at grey but at MRSP it’s nowhere near top value. In fact I’d say it’s barely any more value than an OP. Just my opinion of course.
