Opportunity to buy 5370p (vs 5270p)

I have an opportunity to purchase a 5370p from an AD (outside the USA).

However, I already own a 5270p and would not keep both pieces. I purchased the 5270p a few years ago below retail - these are for my personal use though I rarely wear the watches due to their value.

Would you consider 5370p over the 5270p.

Absolutely, 5370 movement is a step up from the 5270. One of my favourite pieces and in a stunning case design, it is produced in the high grand complications department by a single watchmaker. Also, rarely for a Patek, it is double assembled as are minute repeaters and tourbillons.

I don’t have the answer, all I know is that it would be a nice problem to have. They are two A+ watches!

5370p in blue is one of my favorite watches - it really evokes an emotional response out of me, whereas the 5270P salmon is beautiful but doesn’t do the same of me. So I’m all for going for the 5370p !!!! Love the blue enamel ideal as well.

Having owned the 5270p, this is no contest and first inhouse PCC! The samlon dial IMO is more unique to the 5370p. Complication wise, PCC is much more useful than a split seconds. Having a date complication is a plus for me too.

I have to say, do it. The 5370P is on another level. One of the best modern Pateks that ticks all the boxes.

I find the 5270p wears better on the wrist than the 5370p. The latter felt bigger and not as comfortable. To be fair, I only wore it for a short while, but it left an unfavorable impression comfort-wise. It is, however, a beautiful watch and feat of horological excellence no doubt.

And at the end of the day, the 5270p just tugs on the heart strings a bit more. The salmon dial is something special paired with the platinum case. And I find the 5270p is a more useful complication versus the 5370.

I have both. if I can only keep one, it will be 5370P without second thought.

I've seen both and I'll choose the 5370 over 5270. IMO the 5370 is an upgrade and fits better.

I'd pick 5370 black over any 5270 but I doubt I'd like 5370 blue long term.

While I’ve owned neither it would take me all of 2 seconds to make this move. The 5370 is the best modern Patek since maybe the 5970 and 5004.

Of the two, I prefer the 5270P which has a more useful complication in the PC. I never understood the split seconds chronograph except from a marvel of engineering standpoint. Two timers but only one register would get confusing to me, if I understand correctly.

At this collection level, it is very reasonable to own both a 5270 and a 5370. At the lower collection level, a lot of people will have this one vs another one. But at the PCC and split second Chrono level, I would say own both and enjoy
