Seamaster 300M - Blue vs White vs Bond

Hello,

Looking for opinions here.

I currently have a 3 piece combo meal deal
1. Blackblackblack - Rolex GMT LN
2. RootBeer - Rolex GMT CHNR TT
3. Cermit - Rolex Sub LV

I’m looking to add a Seamaster professional as my 4th watch. I like the idea of getting on bracelet but adding the rubber strap for versatility. This will be my first OMEGA.

I’m between the white dial with black bezel, and the classic blue. For those of you who have owned either or both - could you please comment and let me know what made you decide on one vs the other? I saw them both at the. AD and I felt the white looked better under the AD lights, but I live in Florida and this is going to be my beach/pool/summer watch and I’ll be enjoying this outdoors most often.

Lastly - I have considered the No Time to Die Bond Seamaster as well. Is it “worth” the up charge? Unfortunately the AD near me doesnt have one for me to look at. I would likely be buying it 2nd hand from a trusted grey dealer on the forums - so we are likely looking at around 4K for the seamaster vs 8k for the Bond seamaster.

Thanks for your opinions.

I personally like the white due to contrast, but then again they are all very good in legibility. I have the green version and would've recommended that if you didn't already have an LV.

Bond is worth the premium it’s amazing but the mesh was terrible for my 6.5

I have all 3 actually and they wear different.
Since it is your first Seamaster I would go with classic blue on bracelet. However, I just remembered you wanted the rubber strap, so go with white dial with blue or black bezel-can’t go wrong with either one.
Hopefully this helps, you can’t go wrong either way. I know you are going to love it!

You think white is better on rubber? Is the blue with the blue rubber strap just to “colorful”?

For some people (probably a lot of people) the bracelet and clasp doesn't sit right. There's a huge bulge on the underside.

Yea I feel the same about the Bond watch. The bracelet looks so nice in photos (similar to the mesh on the Breitling SuperOcean heritage bracelet in appearance). However when I tried it on it wasn’t comfortable at all and felt “cheap” IMO. Such a bummer because I really wanted to love it. Again just my $.2 and no hate for those that own it. It’s a gorgeous watch but I was also underwhelmed with the bracelet. As for your original query I’d go with the white dial since it’s a nice change up from your current collection and could make a cool addition!

Blue dial with blue bezel looks better with SS bracelet, blue rubber strap downgrades it.
However, White dial with black bezel looks better on black rubber strap! Therefore, white dial with blue bezel with blue rubber strap looks better vs SS bracelet.
007 looks so much better on bond bracelet vs strap.
This is my opinion only.
Hope it helps!

I thought I wanted the blue but when I saw them in person the white stole the show. I love how it is more of a matte looking white and the waves are much more subtle than the more polished and blingy black and blue versions

I owned the black on bracelet and rubber, the blue on bracelet and the white on rubber. I definitely enjoyed the white on rubber the most and it stayed in my collection the longest

You’re complicating matters for me.

Love the white on rubber.

How do you feel about it on bracelet? Does it get lost?

I think it definitely photographs better on the rubber but in real life it is a coin flip for me. I am definitely glad I have both options and I love the adjustability of the clasp.

Seamaster 300M - Blue vs White vs Bond

I prefer the blue on the bracelet. I was on the hunt for a blue dial watch and ultimately decided on the Seamaster. I love it. No regrets.

Ideally, it would be even better to have both. Blue on bracelet and white on black rubber strap.

I definitely think the No Time To Die version isn’t worth it at all. I just don’t like it, but that’s my 2 cents. Plus, it’s similar in color to your CHNR.

By the way, I live in FL too. No such thing as having too many divers down here. I’m always in the water.

Bond (NTTD) on a Nato is my current daily - super comfortable, fit for every kind of activity. It is however very different from any of the other options, so much so that I have to sometimes remind myself that I actually do own an SMP 300M.

Yes, white dial on the black rubber just pops and with the great black bezel, the watch has a very clean look as well. The folding clasp on the rubber is preferable to the pin buckle imo, so I’d lean that way if I was getting it.

The NTTD Bond version can be bought with the small bracelet as well. Talk to your AD or Boutique when buying, if you go that route, and they should be able to order you the small titanium bracelet to swap out at purchase.

I’ve had a blue for almost 24 years. It’s been a great watch. I tried on a Bond watch and liked it a lot more than I expected, wears great, extremely light and comfortable. If I were making your choice I’d have a hard time not picking that one, even though I’m kind of put off by the “it’s James Bond’s watch” association.

Ok so i narrowed down to white vs blue. The bond is great but not for me after seeing it in person.

I also know I def want to keep this on the rubber strap most of the time.

My questions - is the blue going to be TOO blue on rubber? Blue strap and face. Is the white easier to wear on rubber?

Thanks all

I have both, for me blue is ideal vacation or home watch, but in everyday life it is little bit sporty. White with black rubber is more universal. But still I like blue more. Seamaster should be blue :)

My 2 cents here...

Blue dial is a lot more versatile on the bracelet than the rubber strap. I'm not sure I'd wear the blue dial / blue rubber strap combo to the office.

White dial works well on the bracelet or the black rubber strap. I could wear either of these combinations to the office.

I still prefer the blue dial on the bracelet above all, but white dial on black rubber strap is a great choice.
