FOIS question
I am contemplating a purchase of the first Omega in space watch but I noticed in many photographs the second hand in the sub dial seems to disappear I’m assuming that’s because it is a silver color as opposed to white???
Do any of you who own this watch find this to be an issue? |

Sometimes it can "disappear", but I just move my wrist a fraction in either direction and voila! there it is!!
I think you'll enjoy the watch, go for it!! .nic |

Hard to read for me in the dark or with light reflecting in the dial. Great watch which I passed on to my son.

FOIS is a great reference. I wouldn't let this hold you back.

I had a FOIS and yes, legibility in low light is not very good. That isn't why I sold it and wasn't a big issue for me but it is definitely not a prize winner when it comes to legibility.

I actually have my FOIS on at the moment and while the second hand is sometimes hard to see, I wouldn’t say it disappears by any means. Also, i just took this picture right now and i think the “disappearing,” is more from the photograph / camera if that makes sense.
If you like the watch i definitely wouldn’t let that concern hold you back. I have smaller wrists and really love everything about this watch. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I have a FOIS and it is definitely harder to read than a Speedy Pro. I find that all the hands can disappear if the angle of the light is wrong, especially in lower light conditions. A twist of the wrist will allow me to read them again so I don't find it to be a problem, but it does happen. I sold my Pro not long after getting the FOIS if that helps you understand that I don't find this to be an issue!
