Vintage Patek - Should I RESTORE?

I just picked up this piece at a petty reasonable price. It is a whopping 37m 2481. Dial is severely spotted! Not sure really what the spot are. Also the inside of the case is got "gunk" in it.

Is the a watch you would send back to PP for restoration?? I have sent a couple back in the past and I am amazed at the condition they come back.

I love everything about this watch - it's size, center secs, hands, markers...

Would I be killing the value? or perhaps enhancing the value?

Let me know what you think!

I think it depends on if you want to wear it or keep it in the safe and hope to sell it one day for a profit.

It looks like a beautiful Calatrava and I would send it back to Geneva for a restoration. I assume it will take over a year. You can send it to HSWA in NYC first and have them send it to Geneva, but it will add some time for the extra handling.

very nice , as other said it surely deserves a service i d leave the dial as it is and wouldn t polish the case ,
i think i wouldn t send it to HSWA rather would ask an estimate from good watchmaker, if no parts required and has the tool for the gyromax you can save a pile of dough.
