MY Grail Universal Geneve Tri Compax

One door closes and another door open. That is how my luck changed today. After a failed attempt to acquire another grail watch, I got a call several hours later, from my watch agent about a UG Tri-Compax 881101/03. This watch is something I never expected but anyway, the owner was not inclined to send photos of the watch but agreed to meet with me for dinner since we both live in the area. The watch was brought by another watch dealer who is brokering the deal for the owner.

When I finally saw the watch, I was surprised at the condition. It was pristine and unmolested. No signs of it ever being polished and the killer dial and hands are in like NOS condition. This particular model of the Tri.Compax is known as the "exotic dial" version and is the most sought after model because of the dial design similarity with the famous Paul Newman Daytona. The manual wind movement is very clean with no visible signs of wear, chronograph function works and time keeping is still very accurate for its
Anyway, negotiation went very smoothly.

The owner was asking for the moon but eventually settled for a much lower price and the deal was concluded. Happy to share this grail watch here.

Very interesting piece. Annual calendar, moonphase, and chrono; yet quite clean design. Congratulations!

Is he dial dark blue or black?
