Walked into My MRI scan room...

Im an MRI tech, work with a 1.5t magnet, I walked into the scan room with my breiling was about a foot away from the magnet when I felt the tugging of my watch, I had forgotten to take it off ran out quickly to inspect, still running on time withn U.S atomic clock, should I fear magnetization or other damage

Man...I'd be out of my mind working around that stuff. Fear for my own health.
I'm sure we are around that kind of electronic and magnetic fields everyday but...WoW.

milgauss would not be good either.. Its good for 1 thousand gauss. 1.5 scanner is 15 thousand gauss.

Given that an iPad is enough to trip up some watches...its pretty awesome if that managed to survive it.

For sure, but never thought you'd feel a tug on your wrist seeing as the majority of the watch is ss. Anyway, hope the OP's watch is ok!

Edit! Just re-read his post and see that he was only a foot away from the mag!! That explains the tug for sure. At that distance any interaction with the field would be pretty severe!!

Cheer

Ross
