Ive heard it all now! plus im a idiot

I broke a pair of my 80's Vuarnet sunglasses and have called around local and then found a "Specialist" in sunglasses repair in N.Y.C. they had a chat with "pro" box on their webpage so I asked "Crystal" a few questions and she said they are Vuarnet specialist and so to make the long story shorter I agreed to fedex the sunglasses to them....then comes the first "surprise" Crystal sends me a "chat request" that its customary to give her a "tip" at first I think she is joking....buts its no joke ....10 percent of the est total to fix the glasses .....so 5 bucks charged to my Visa for nothing.
Surprise number 2. The sunglasses came back three weeks later with a big blob of super glue holding the earpiece together. Sooo im out 50 bucks plus 5 dollar "tip" and and a pair of now junked Vuarnet sunglasses.
Lesson is I should have done more research before sending them my glasses....But I was in a hurry....now i feel like fool.

Tip. What a joke. That should have been the tell.
Sorry to hear about your classic Vuarnets.
I had a couple pair back in the day.

Sorry man. I broke my favorite 80's Vuarnets last year. My favorite ski glasses. Still have 2 pairs of Revos from the era. I look on eBay occasionally for a replacement arm but have not been able to source one.
Guess I should try some Gorilla 🦍glue.

Never use OpticsFast in NYC....If I had looked at reviews online I got by cheap compare to most in yelp etc....I never seen a company with this many bad reviews

I used to wear Vuarnet sun glasses in the 80's. Over time the bridge on both a brown and a black pair broke.. Bummer..

I just went out and got some Maui Jim's.. Very happy and no need to doctor 20 year old frames.. Sounds like I wouldn't like this repair service either.

Not to hijack but my wife had a pair of 10 year old Maui Jim's and snapped off one of the ear pieces. The lens were also pretty beat-up.

We sent them in to see if they could be fixed. Not only did they fix the ear piece but the also replaced both lens and sent them back in a brand new case. Cost $10. Great customer service.
