It’s Veterans Day...Show some vintage Rolex with Military Provenance

I’ll begin with my father’s Submariner 6205 bought new in a military PX in 1964 and spent time in Korea and Germany before spending 1966/67 in Vietnam. Pictured with Vietnam Service Medal and Bronze Star earned while serving in Vietnam.
Much appreciation and respect for all military veterans.

From the PX in Thailand, GMT purchased during Vietnam War with custom Rolex bracelet found on several Vietnam era watches.

Correction...the 6205 is from 1954 which places it amongst the very first Submariners ever made. The original purchase price was around $100.

My dad’s old 5508 he bought upon joining the Canadian Airforce in 1962. Resurrected by Bob Ridley a few years back and now proudly worn by me.

Many thanks to all who have served and sacrificed.

Yes and if that is the original untouched dial, I’d say early in 1954. IIRC...It wasn’t until late 1954 that Rolex began to imprint Submariner on the dials.

Yes...all original dial, hands and bezel insert. Period correct replacement crown and crystal installed by Bob Ridley along with a complete movement overhaul four years ago.
