New Addition, Old Edition for a Recent Passion

I am new to the world of writing and pen collecting, but I am a quick study. I have a very small, but attractive collection, and I wanted to share one of my favorite more recent acquisitions from MontBlanc. It is the 2005 Writer's Edition, celebrating the author, Miguel de Cervantes, writer of the famous, "Don Quixote"!

I was fortunate enough to find the set with the Fountain Pen, Ballpoint, and Mechanical Pencil. I plan for these writing instruments to take center stage on my desk, and to be used for a long time. I will be inking the FP very soon, and it will be the first of my MB Fountains to ever be used.

I am glad to be a part of the club. Do you still own and use it? Brand new, it looks great to be a 13 year old set. Curious as to how the finishes stand up over time with regular use.

I certainly agree with you. I decided that whatever I purchase, I will use. I have even started writing in cursive again to make it more fun. Unfortunately, cursive writing may as well be a foreign language to the younger generations today, since they no longer teach it most schools.

There is one fountain pen I have been considering, but at that particular price and above, I am not certain I could bring myself to even unseal it. It may become an expensive piece of decor.

The pictures do little justice. I was more impressed once i go them in person, since I had only seen them online.
