Beautiful watch. I think you enabled me.

Does anyone know if there is a rubber strap for this watch?

No rubber strap. I’m thinking of getting a gator strap with a rubber lining for summer wear.

Looking forward to your incoming 👍

Haha. I'm still undecided whether or not I should fork out the extra cash for a PCC - i.e. 5270G or stick to 5170P and add a PC down the line.

How about the 5270P?

Agreed that in person this watch really shines. Congratulations.

I too have a Dato (Up/Down) and have been thinking of offloading and replacing with something PP. Maybe a 5170.

I’m curious as to how you compare the Dato
and this day to day. The Dato for me can be a very casual watch, when trying the 5170 I’ve not convinced myself that it too could be a less formal (casual) watch.

I feel the same way about the previous versions of the 5170. The Breguet numerals make them more dressy, IMO. The 5170p from a distance looks like a black dial watch and with the stick markers, it looks more modern. The 5170p can be "casual" like the Dato if you put it on a mat strap. Even with the shiny gator strap, it will not look out of place with jeans and polo shirt.

Agree that the P does look more casual, and it’s the lack of numerals that do the trick.

Not sure I can spring for the P though. Might be just a little too far.

Mine came on a shiny blue strap as well, pairs well and is a bit dressy. I’ve also tried light and dark brown, beige, and grey. It’s more versatile than people think
