The Daytona is my favourite watch, but between these two I’d go for the Cellini - more appropriate as a dress watch and I think the daytona is at its worst on leather.

This is the worst forum to ask that question and the majority answer was never in doubt!

Daytona is my fave watch - but not in that dial colour/with leather strap - to me it looks wrong and is not classy or dressy (wheras the watch posted by AK797 looks great)

The Cellini you pictured (out of the two) wins hands down for me as a dress watch.

If you going to use it as dress watch no doubt Cellini, it fits you and more gentlemanly to wear proper watch for the setting.

The Daytona hands down. Don't even look at the pre-owned prices and how much you would lose in a trade, sell or flip if you bought a Cellini. If you want a dress watch similar to the Cellini, look at the offerings from JLC pre-owned and get a superior watch with a lot of history from a company that does it well. The Cellini is an afterthought for Rolex.

Cellini. Daytona is not a dress watch, imo.

Surprisingly, I kind of like the Cellini.

But, agree with Lee. If you dress more like the first photo, then Daytona. If your dress is more suit and tie like the second pic, then the Cellini.

I would pick the Cellini. It looks better on a leather strap and dressier. I got my cellini moonphase for that reason alone.

I too consider the RG Daytona on the leather strap dressy. This a watch that easily dress up or down. I’d go Daytona. My personal favorite combo is the RG Daytona with the ivory dial and Alligator strap. But hey, I only wear suits to weddings and funerals.

If looking for a RG Daytona on leather, definitely this one over the chocolate dial....and I'd have no issues doing it. That being said, the Cellini is definitely more of a formal watch in fairness.

Curious, what are your suggestions?
