Trevor, I have seen your listings on Instagram and your website (following this thread I can put the 2 together with your name here). They are always accurate and well-described. This will not affect you in any way I'm sure. Unfortunately there will always be difficult people and a little knowledge generally proves dangerous!!

Good to hear both sides of the story. I would not hesitate to buy from Trevor

I don't know who Trevor is but when he replies 12 times to tell his story it sounds crazier then it needs to be.

Another example where buyer's can make a seller's a living hell and stress.

Who said selling/flipping is going to be easy? It's not :)

The OP should apologize. Thus the problem. People chiming in without all the facts. I've owned several Rolex watches. That does not make me an expert. I do not judge the authenticity of others property which so many on here seem to do under the guise of protecting the world from counterfeit watches. My wife likes Chanel bags. She does not patrol eBay looking for fakes.

I agree that the seller shouldn’t be deemed “Guilty” until proven innocent.
There are always 2 sides to every story.

My only criticism of the seller is the statement on how unreliable RSC is with vintage timepieces. You may be right, BUT, if the OP is as inexperienced with vintage timepieces as you stated, a statement like that from Rolex can shake your confidence in the transaction. You’re the expert in this convo, no doubt, but it’s hard to dismiss that Rolex disagreed with you.

Just trying to bring a different point of view.

If you don’t like the watchout section you can stay away from it, simple. You are entitled to your opinion however as a long standing member your opinion is not that of the majority here evidenced by the lack of interest in your responses and thread on the matter. Ebay invites people to there program of enhanced reporting some members here are those people, ebay asked for help with the problem.

This section is designed to collect as much relevant info possible about any potentially fake watch. At times it attracts less than expert advice. But that doesn’t mean we should eliminate the good advice with the bad input.

Always consider the source methinks.

As for OP and the eBay seller, it appears time has provided a balanced perspective.

So the OP has no responsibility for this? Any anonymous person can write anything about any Rolex that's for sale and potentially lose a sale of a perfectly authentic watch because "something seems off"? Not going to learn much from amatuer sleuths. I'll stick with pros.

Well you have a point, I agree with. This section was frequented by more experts in the old days. You have to be sure it’s fake to list it here, not just “it’s off”. I believe sellers have rights too and would be upset if one of my listings ended up here.

The OP got what he wanted and disappeared.

It's akin to a scorned woman accusing someone of rape, knowing that the court of public justice will rule in her favour long before the facts have been considered.

The seller is owed an apology here, not only from non bona fide OP, but those who enabled his dishonest behavior.

Disagree. I would vehemently defend my character if someone falsely attacked it. And it looks to be the case here since the OP is now MIA.

X2. There were plenty of enablers here, as well as in other watch-out threads. There are some some really anal, misinformed and poor buyers out there in Rolex Land.

I don’t know about the backstory but I do know enough that a serial that is “known” to be from 1981 could easily have been from two years earlier. The serial numbers are estimates of periods at best to everyone but rolex.

I would too. But like I said his posting blast came off crazy.

You have your opinion like I have my mine.

Not to mention it looks like Trevor hasn't been back either since his thread blast.
