Even though his ring was "cleaned" there appears to have been some moisture along the way that's currently oxidizing.

I'm glad to have see these pictures now and will follow up with Don.
hope all is well bob. as usual, your service is 5 stars along with your work.

Bob and I chatted yesterday. We have sorted a way forward. Having worked with Bob, I wasn't worried at all about finding a solution.

He is such a passionate professional and I highly recommend his services to anyone.

So happy to hear.

Bob is the best around IMO.

He is someone you can trust and is always upfront and honest. He also always takes extra time with me over the phone to go over any details about my watch and answer any and all of my questions.

It's hard to find service and quality work these days like that of which Bob provides.

UPDATE - My 5508 was back to Bob last week and he refit an NOS retainer ring. It's now happily back on my wrist.

Thanks to Bob/Barbara and everyone here on the forum for pointing me in the right direction for restoring my Dad's watch.

Thanks for the comments guys. I'm just thrilled to have received it from my dad and see it revived to such a great state. Everyone's guidance here helped immensely.
