Not a good thing at all...reason I invested in a cheap $15 to wakeboard and waterski.

Hope maybe you find it, but I wouldn't count out getting another one. Save up and get a new one, just don't wear it waterskiing.

Best whatever you decide.

The best of luck. The metal detector for 200 bucks seems a great idea. With so many of us willing you to find it, it's bound to happen.

I am hoping you succeed with the underwater search today. And appreciate you telling us the details while still in the throes of grief over the episode - it serves as a reminder about risks. Much luck

Best of luck on this, but no need to stop posting to TRF….good advice offered on underwater water detector, since you have a buddy who can dive the site. Looking forward to recovery photos!

Un happy to report that i failed today in my search and rescue mission. I had a diver down with 1 1/2 hours of oxygen and I free dived for almost 6 hours. It is a river so there was a stronger current today. Thanks everyone for the kind words. Im now beet to crap from be under water so long today. I hope my oyster case survives long enough for some lucky person to find many years from now. I hope they will appreciate it as much as i did. Im off now to buy a jumbo size bottle of crown to drink my sorrows away. Good evening everyone.

It's there waiting for you I'm sure you could rent an underwater metal detector and you would find it.
It's an oyster so it's okay where it is until you find it.

Keeping my fingers crossed for you

Sorry for your loss I feel your pain. When I was 15 my dad's prize possession was a 5000 dollar diamond tennis bracelet he lost it at work he didn't sleep for three days. Eventually it was replaced with something even better time heals all.

Just got a phone call from my neighbor who is a commercial diver. His buddy is bringing over 7 hours of oxygen and more gear for another go in the morning. He said he will do a circular grid pattern.

Another vote for taking an underwater metal detector with you. Thinking positive thoughts and wishing you the best luck in finding it.
