Speaking of faded bezel inserts...

I love them. Changing a bezel insert is quick and easy, and it is a relatively inexpensive way to give your watch a new and unique look. It may sound crazy, but I bought the faded GMT insert before I even had the watch to put it on. I just received my faded 16800 insert today from England. I put it on my 16610 Submariner with the 16800 dial. I can't take my eyes off it. It literally changes colors depending on how the light hits it. It reminds me of a car that I used to have. If you have a faded insert on your watch, lets see it.

inserts

Those are two beautiful examples. That might be the most faded GMT insert I have seen yet.

I like the fact that it makes it original and unique, but unlike custom jobs you're still fully original.

Agreed about the angle of lighting. It changes everything. Same watch, three different looks.

The faded look

My 9411/0 as purchased in 2005 and after a clean and service 6 months later. Interesting how different lighting affects the outcome of an image, that second photo shows it as being lighter than it actually is. Not sure if the 5512 counts as a faded look though, perhaps more a "gouged" look.

Possibly, Australia's outdoor condition is very harsh. However I got it like that when I bought the watch several years ago.

That edge looks brilliant Dan, love how it has that starburst type look to it fading on the outside and solid on the inside, that's one of the coolest Tudor's I've ever seen.

Thanks, Ashley!
I remember my watchmaker telling me not to lose or sell the original faded bezel insert after he serviced the Big Block. At the time I want a new, pristine looking Big Block. But the vintage bug will do crazy things to you and so I decided to reinstall the original aged inserts to both the Big Block and snowflake. Seemingly subtle changes like bezels make a huge difference.

Think this thread also extends to 1680/8 blue -> rainbow dials and Patrizzi Daytona's if anyone's got them.

Those are some amazing and unique watches. What a difference an insert can make. If you have a watch with a faded insert or dial, lets see it.

Watchyou from Canada, I rotated your pic because the bezel looked so damn good. Hope you don't mind. What a great insert you have. (BEZEL AND PIC IS NOT MINE)
