Goodluck.
I believe there is a strong chance, i assume there would be no current and underwater activity. Somebody with a rescue diver training could be helpful and provide assistance, as marking the territory and searching zone by zone. Dont forget it is not going anywhere by itself. Lets just say submariner missed the deep, eventually come back to its home ;) |

fingers crossed for you , Im sure you could find it if you have a good idea where you lost it .
I have a friend who is a commercial salvage diver , he said they fix a heavy object to the seabed then attach a rope and search round in increasing circles if visibility is 3" ,My thought is hire a under water metal detector to give your self a real chance ,If you find it then it will have been worth it even if you have to buy a detector you can always re sell it Good luck |

Hope you find your watch I lost one once in the Red Sea while on a liveaboard boat working as a guide/instructor but that was out in the blue off the reef. And water depth there well over 1000m so perhaps someone in Davy Jones locker is wearing my SD.And one guy in my group lost his dive watch on the reef, but we found that one the next day after systematic search.

My ex did that one time with her sunglasses....we were at the beach and she said she lost them in the water...thank god it was only 5 feet to the bottom....but you could see nothing. Sun almost down and there I was feeling with my toes....until...found them Gucci glasses.....so it's not as bad as your situation....but at least you know you got a good shot.

I'm very sorry to hear that. Hope you find it, but by all means you can keep on posting here. This great forum welcomes anyone and as a rightful owner of a watch (and it will still be your forever) I hope to see you around even at the unfortunate event that you don't find it.
We are all with you. |

Lack of current and an underwater metal detector, along with painstaking patience may very well yield results.
I cannot even being to relate. I lost a small dive knife on a reef in Key Largo once and felt terrible until i found it the next day. However, that was 50' of water, good vis ... and a $40 knife.

Wow this really sucks. Dont give up hope just yet. It's there, maybe as someone suggested try using something like an industrial magnet from the surface? No matter what the outcome is of isn't please don't leave TRF. If its gone then its time to start squirreling away money for another. Good luck!

Ia far as I know, you don't actually have to have a Rolex to belong to the forum....
Plus you've just provided an answer to the pressing "can you wake-board with your Rolex?" question! Seriously, I think your chances of recovering it are pretty good... If not then this has helped solidify your appreciation for that watch... I'm sure that any love that strong will not go unrecognized by the universe... Yours will either be recovered, or the plans will quickly be put in place for a replacement.... in a few months I am confident you will have a rolex on your wrist, and a hell of a story to tell... keep us posted. |
