Dilemma

Purchased a Sub in March of this year and the same day I also left a deposit for the new Batman with jubilee. I’ve been guaranteed the Batman in January but I’m not holding my breath.

However when doing a casual visit to the AD last month, I ended up purchasing (unplanned) a DJ41 blue Roman jubilee which is a beautiful dress watch but is also super versatile. The more I look at pictures of the Batman in the context of the DJ41, the less appealing it becomes.

I can only keep two watches and the Sub is definitely one of them. What would you gents and ladies do in my situation? There are several factors such as resale value, fit, etc to consider and I’d love to hear your opinions.

Thanks in advance!

I like the Sub & DJ combo. Sporty and Dressy options.

Are you buying to flip or buying to wear something you like/want? Keep what you have.

Don't worry about resale value, its a watch, not an investment product. In 2 years, the batman could be worthless. No one knows, so buy what you want and love, not what the market is currently hyping.

I think you have the perfect combo except for the Romans. Just my opinion on the Romans.

I'd stick with your current set up - I too have a sub and DJ blue, only with batons.

Keep the current two and skip the BLNR.

You are where you want to be. Pass on the GMT II and be content.

I’m partial to the Sub/DJ41 combo as it covers various dress situations very nicely.

Something I don't see asked very often on this board but is helpful when it comes to questions like this: is a GMT complication something you will actually use on a regular basis?

I think the gmt is such a clever and useful complication - and yet despite having had a variety of GMT’s over the years and travelling extensively, I never use it!

I think blue dial DJ and blue bi color bezel GMT is a bit more redundant than full black sub.

Don’t forget for the longest time, GMT price was basically retail plus Tax. Do not too much FOMO by passing off unless you just love the GMT, in which case ditch the sub and get the GMT.

In my world, if a Daytona, even if secondary market were MSRP came up, I would drop both watches and get the Chrono because that’s what I love.

Still as you may not have seen the BLNR-J I would wait to see it on you before deciding.

There are definitely those for whom it would be legitimately useful. I'm not one of those persons. If the OP is not a frequent traveler, I would say Sub + DJ is a fantastic combo and the GMT seems superfluous.
