This.

Ya' beat me to it! Significant features no DJ buyer would eschew when buying a DJ vs OP. ( or to save a few bucks.)

This is the truth. Even before this release the OP was properly taking sales away from the smooth oyster DJs.

The only thing that would make the DJ a legit sporty all-rounder would be brushed lugs and bracelet. If that was an option it would be game over for pretty much everything else on my list.

And while the silver dial may age like the two tone faucets from the 90’s, something tells me it may end being quite popular.

Perhaps it may affect those who wanted the smooth bezel/bracelet or the price conscious.

I wondered if the Double baton indices are to differentiate from the cleaner DJ lines.

For the money, the OP is relatively good value.

I doubt it, the Datejust is a premium model and signature of the brand. The OP is a great watch but an entry level piece, now taken to fashion watch proportions/looks.

Personally, I wanted a date so I moved the OP39 for a dj41 (both are now gone)

Does the DJ wear larger than the OP? Curious. It seems to look slightly larger in the photo. I'm sure it really is slightly larger, but wondering how it wears.

Agree with what someone else said. Steel bezel and oyster bracelet maybe (but probably not, the cyclops and the date function in general make them different), but this jubilee and fluted is a completely different watch from the OP.

That's an OP39, so yes . . .

Right but I've read the Dj 41 is actually a 39 and change case size... Perhaps the OP 39 is less? Looks like it.

I just got mine 2 weeks ago. I haven't put calipers to it (and I don't see myself doing it) but I will say that it wears larger than my 40mm 16570 polar. It's neck and neck with my 116900 AK, but the AK wears larger because of the thicker case.

I concur that the DJ ; particularly the jubilee and fluted models will still have their desired market. The OP appeals to those who are more price conscious for an entry level Rolex they can actually obtain ; or those will the money to shell out for dial colours to match their socks.

I much prefer the finish of the DJ and the single batons.

I might wait for the OP dial to simplify further just as the DJ dial is cleaner without the railroads. I might wait a while.

I think it did, but not by much. My guess is the OP41 and DJ41 wear, about, the same

Thanks guys, you've confirmed what I guessed. I have tried on both te OP 39 and the DJ 41 but not at the same time. I did feel the DJ 41 felt bigger and it could also be the flat bezel that adds to the feeling.

I think this is a good way to look at it. I'm thinking about it in the shoes of a non-WIS individual walking into an AD interested in the brand and perhaps buying their one fine timepiece and knowing the Rolex brand as one of high quality for as long as they can remember. Assuming price is a consideration, there's a material difference between the two, which for many may be more than justifiable for a date complication

The colors make the OP stronger and at a better price point for some that are just getting into Rolex. For those of us that own some Rolex watches it is a bit different, in a good way, from the DJ or other models.
