Has this been polished? 5513

5513 from mid 80's.
Allegedly unpolished.
Any input appreciated.
Difficult for me to determine, but edges look sharp.
Lug holes natural?
Thanks so much!

To me it looks so, those bevels look ginormous to me. To find a 5513 unpolished from a reseller is near impossible anymore. I can tell you that the bracelet looks wrecked

Yeah, it's a little weird. Maybe it's the photos, but the bezel chamfers and lug holes lug sharp, while the crown guard and the bezel ridges look very soft.

The crown guards look too smooth to me & the chamfers on the lugs seem a bit too wide? I don't have enough experience in the vintage space to say anything for certain.

Yes, of course it has been refinished, polished, worked over, restored, or whatever you prefer to call it.

I think dealers and sellers to just get out of the habit of trying to say things have been unpolished.
They should just present the watch in the current state that it is in and make no claims about “never polished…because really in the end, it doesn’t really matter/deal breaker if it’s had a slight polishing when it’s like 30 or 40 years old?

I would say yes, polished, might even be slightly laser welded.
Hard to judge with these pictures only.

Given the CG’s….might have had a nice day at the watch equiv. of plastic surgeons. Bit odd they didn’t do the whole job though, if so.

Can you share photos from the dial?
What is the dealer's asking price for this 5513?

I am rolling my eyes every day as I scroll through the IG listings of major dealers. Everything is "unpolished."

Exactly! Everything unpolished with papers, matching hands and perfect patina. It’s too good to be true.
