Classic Seamaster Info Needed...

I've always had a thing for classic watches. What can you fine folks tell me about this one...

Any info would be appreciated. Most importantly, what would you be willing to pay for such a thing? Thanks in advance...

If I told you it's an OMEGA Seamaster would that help, Pat?

Indeed a Seamaster..

But i am afraid this one is a re-dail..

Did you visit the ''vintage watch'' section on the Omega site?
There you can find out if the movement is the correct one for this Seamaster.

But considdering the (bad) redail I would not pay too much for thise one, sorry..

Thanks G.J. After many hours of research, I now know much more about fatty acids than I ever thought necessary... Concerning the watch... based on the serial number, the vintage is roughly 1952 vs the 1950 advertised, not a deal-breaker... The case is stamped 2576 C3 which dates to 1949 and a caliber of 342 or 28,10mm, a bumper automatic wind which appears appropriate. Although you can't see them very well, the lugs on the case should be the 'chunky' or teardrop. Based on the views available, the case has the 'wide' bezel and appears appropriate so I assume the lugs are correct as well. Yes, I noticed the unsigned crown. Otto Frei has signed crowns that are affordable but it doesn't appear the style or knurling is correct for the vintage. The dial was my biggest concern and you have confirmed my doubts. I couldn't find another example of this 'honeycomb' dial anywhere. Most notably, the sub-dial is not recessed. All the others I've been able to see are. The copper arrowhead markers appear too large and the lumed markers @ 12,3,6,9 should be copper as well, not lume (or missing as shown below). The hands appear to be OK but... what do I know. Oh well, it's an attractive classic look but considering the frankenwatch factor, I'll probably let this one go... Thanks again C.J., I'd kill for your SM Chronograph... You posted some fine pics earlier, maybe you could back that up with some history, facts, trivia, etc. I, for one, would be fascinated to learn more... Finally, this appears to be a better example of what this watch should look like...
