Well, I don't mean to be mean or rude, but he's lucky to have a watch after divorce! My buddy a family man lost everything to his beloved ex including his only Rolex, he loved her so much that he walked out with basically nothing. When I saw my buddy he was wearing a freaking torn up jacket with tears in his eyes and he was a millionaire. Lesson in life: when you wife stops loving you, stop throwing money or even Rolex at her, it just doesn't work that way anymore LOL

It's all relative, I wear my Rolexes to protect my AP and PPs and it does a fine job. Granted when I first bought the Subc it was my precious and my Raymond Weil was my beater, but then my RW was once my nice watch and my Swatch was my beater.

The 5513 was my daily for a decade. To me, nothing says daily better than a steel sub

The amount of money a Rolex costs, you'd better get your wear out of it! :)

When you look at vintage watches, they have been beat to sh*t and very well worn...some are missing their pips and the dials and hands are all corroded.
And it looks like they do OK on the secondary market. So...I guess I can wear my Rolex without worrying about it too much. Or buying a Shinola. |

I find Shinola to be more than a bit of a sham with the whole Detroit, Made in USA, Craft/quality messaging.
They're way overpriced for what they're made of. 95% marketing lacquer

I have worn my Pepsi 1675 GMT every day for more than 50 years - you can't get much more 'every day' than that!
