Am I getting a good deal?

After collecting for some time now I think a base model Panerai would compliment my collection nicely. I have the opportunity to buy on eBay a J serial 112 it has some scratches but the seller claims it was recently serviced. I figure I will send it to my local jeweler to get a nice polish. It doesn’t come with box or papers and he wants $3,555 considering this is a watch from 2007 is this a good deal?

Regardless of the price, do you know the seller? Does the seller have a receipt from the recent service? I’d personally never by a watch without box a papers. Why don’t you reach out to one of the trusted sellers on TRF? Be careful.

I’d recommend against having your jeweler polishing it.

how well do you know the seller? no box/papers could be an issue but if he has a receipt for the service that would be ok

don’t polish it.

good luck

Not a good deal...the value without box and papers drops at least 30%....also, you should notnpolksh that watch...I would pass and find one with box in papers and better condition
