Ten days with the 5167A and I'm "still rejoicing." Anyone need enabling out there?

And to those fortunate enough to have a 5146, any flavor, I'd love to see some nice pics...

Trend towards larger watch makes me do a really dumb thing-I have put my Calatrava on eBay to fund my 5167R. I think hanging around this forum will make you spend more on these work of art. You think you settle with one level. After a year or so, you want to move up another ladder. I think I need to see someone to help me with my obsession!

I think there's something to the fact that every once in awhile you have a desire for something different. Not that there is something wrong with what you had originally, however it is also nice to experience other things as well.

What you don't know doesn't hurt you but TRF has a LOT of info on watches. Ergo, you learn more about complications and brands thus pushing you to escalate. The result is predictable. TRF is dangerous.

X2

Then there are those dangerous devilish enablers who exist only to tempt us with their exquisite and stunning and some of the best examples of horology.

Patek owners and enablers, I came across this website earlier today and thought I would share it with you. It's an interview with Thierry Stern in which he talks about various Patek Philippe models as well as the whole company's philosophy. I thought it would be a fun read for all of you enthusiasts but it's also a good way to learn more about the man himself, after reading it I had the feeling he was a true gentleman and he seems very down to earth and humble (notice how he talks about other brands).

I hope you'll enjoy it! There are beautiful pictures as well!

It's always a pleasure to share Patek related things! I am still dreaming about the day I'll finally own one. In all honesty I must say I enjoy watching pictures around this place while telling myself "one day, let's be patient", it makes me appreciate the whole thing much more and it makes me believe I'll choose the right one, the watch I'll keep forever and I'll pass on to my children (if I have any...otherwise the dog will probably enjoy it! ).

I seriously doubt that Patek had your dog in mind when they said “You never actually own a Patek Philippe. You merely look after it for the next generation.”

But then again if you buy one and I am certain if you put your mind to it you wiil, then Carl you can do whatever you want with your watch.

I drooled over many a Patek, before the ADs finally kicked me out. In fact that's why I finally had to buy one of my one. Now I'm busy cleaning my drool off of my watch.

I wish I could clean drool of a Patek too!

...Well, my drool, of course!

I actually had another thing to share with you guys. I've read somebody somewhere claiming that John Lennon had a Patek but surprisingly I've never been able to get more info on it. Well I took another look on the net a couple of days ago and I have actually been able to confirm what "rumor"!

Here it is! The legendary Beatle with his Patek ref 2499. It's a 37mm chronograph in 18kt yellow gold and from what I read it has a perpetual calendar (I'm not sure about that since there's no leap year indicator but perhaps that "complication" was added on more recent models). Here are some pictures (which are not mine)!

It's always hard to hide a smile when you have such a timepiece!

A closer look!

And that's how it works!

There you go guys! Sorry if it looks like a hijack but I really enjoyed looking for those information and I thought some would find it interesting!

Yep, Ringo and Paul actually have a 5167.

Now if we could only determine if George had one or not.

I remember about Ringo and Paul, still can't find anything on George though! Perhaps he didn't have the same passion for timepieces!

That's a good possibility given his personality. I would think if there were a picture that existed there's an awful good chance it would have been found by now.
