Driving in Florida directions

So on our way from Toronto to Naples. Brutal weather in West Virginia has put us behind schedule and with 2 small kids we had to call it a day.
Headed from savannah ga to Naples Florida tomorrow. 2 routes are the interior route or the highway through Orlando. I prefer highway as those small town interior drives can be awful. Any suggestions?

I'm in Orlando now and our place is right on I4 in Orlando. Just avoid the area at rush hour. Lots of major construction. As an aside I'll be heading back to Kitchener Ontario next week.

I live in Jacksonville FL. Right off of 95...
if you leave Savannah at 6 am or after you’ll miss the
the rush hour traffic in Orlando after 10 am unless there’s
an accident which is unforeseen... I’d take 95 South to
4 West and 75 South!!!

Made that drive too many times to count. You're a lucky dog Naples is a sanctuary this time of year.

I always take the interior route through Ocala and avoid Orlando like the plague but if speed traps and stop and go bothers you then take 95. By the time I get that far along the trip I can't wait to get off a major highway like 95.

I agree that's how I would go. We take the way to Lido Key, 75 south usually goes good.

Take your pick. Tampa or Orlando. I-10 is good Road to Lake city, then I-75 south. I-4 in "O" town is a total Nightmare. Be safe.

I do 50,000 miles a year driving around Florida. If you are coming down 95 from Savannah take 295 around Jacksonville. I 10 west to 301 S. Take 301 to I 75. I 75 to Naples. Make sure you do the exact speed limit the entire way on 301. It’s a speed trap. Just use your cruise control. Thats 100% the best way and fastist way. Orlando traffic is a nightmare from hell. Avoid at all costs. Don’t even go to disney world. Lol.

Yep that’s the route I take Brett.

If you go that way be prepared for ocassional stretches of 65mph > 45 mph > 30 mph > 45 > 65 and so forth. It’s a game

I-4 isnt as bad as it used to be. It's 3 lanes all the way to I-95 now, so as long as you avoid rush hour, it's the way I'd go.

If you don’t like the highway this is a good route avoiding
Orlando completely... I agree ...

This is the best route in my opinion as well.

Where are you headed in Naples Chris?
I’m going back on the 28th and looking forward to it.
