Question: Is there a post/thread that lists "current inventory" at A.D's across USA?
Curious if there is a post/thread or discussion currently ongoing that is tracking in stock inventory on "interesting", "hot", hard to find items across the USA. I travel quite a bit and stop in A.D whenever I get the chance. I am sure many in the forum do as well and feel like I, You, someone may benefit from the inside line on a certain item sitting in a lonely display case somewhere. The example I thought about and the reason why I ask about a current post for this is because a few weeks back I walked into an AD and saw a BLNR in the case for retail with no one on a list for it. I should have created the post then for someone to benefit from! But i didn't.....so I'm asking now for future treasure hunt finds that I choose to pass on.

In short, the answer is no.
Inventory often changes very quickly, but it is not unlikely for someone to create a post mentioning the identification of a piece or a post asking where a member has recently seen the piece in a specific part of the world. Good luck on your hunt |

No. Sorting like asking what the average discount is on a SS Sub.
There’s no good way to be the least bit accurate. |

This is a perfect idea for a smartphone App. Rolex availability tracker at AD's in real time! Who here develops phone Apps?

It's not as funny as it may seem. On the Martin guitar site they used to have dealers contact information for lost treasures, those out of production guitars, and where they could be found. I'm pretty confident Rolex could provide such information as a service to their customers and dealers. Agreed that Martin only produces 100,000 guitar a year and Rolex ten times that in watches however order management and inventory is already in place I'm certain.

this sounds like a job for google docs. give everyone access to the URL and they can update it in real time.

I was informed that its against policy to list their own inventory on websites, but we wouldn't be breaking any policy if a large group did so as a collaborative! Its just a thought that swirls in my head because I am always stopping, even just to kill time occasionally, and what may be sitting in a case might not be my grail but could be someones, they just don't know its there.

Someone should start one! I think it would be really useful to have an ongoing thread where if you saw, say, a SD43 (not that I've called 50 ADs looking for one or anything...) at your AD, you could post in the thread about it and perhaps help a member find a watch they've been looking for.
