I am a Fan of the Milgauss. I've liked the look of them since I first laid eyes on them. However the AK in person is quite a looker.

I actually sold my New BLNR (first Rolex) a couple years ago and recently purchased a 116900 Air King... I absolutely love it and its a great daily.

I had a OP39 White on order but have changed my mind as I felt the bezel and bracelet were so close to what I already have. Really want a White dial watch next and I also wanted a little bit more rugged watch and the Explorer II Polar really fits the bill also a fan of the Yachtmaster II SS but at the price I feel like the EXP II is a much better buy. Clearly I am a fan of the underdog Rolexes .. but to me they are all great !

2 for me and I'm done! doesn't mean I Wont trade out at some point.. I just have other toys that interest me rather than owning 4 or 5 watches at a time.

a few pics of my AK.

A couple of Milgauss options my AD had when I picked up my AK.

Either Way .. Best of luck in your decision you really cant lose !

Just added the AK to my collection today. Never thought I like it until I tried it, simply stunning watch that ticks all the boxes for me. Much more interesting than my gmt blnr.

I got mine on Tuesday, had no plan to buy it that day and just thought I would try it on in store. Once on the wrist I was beyond impressed and walked out with it! It is a must-see on the wrist.

I nearly bought a Milgauss a few days ago at London Heathrow. I think the green reflective on the dial is stunning, but it's all personal preference.

They are two of the most unpopular models currently available, and they both possess very unique (some may say bizarre) design choices when compared to other Rolex models. For these reasons I think they have the potential to be the most valuable of the modern Rolex line in the distant future...or not. Only time will tell.
Agreed

Milgauss is so versatile (dressy on bracelet and sporty on rubber) plus it has useful lume!

I went into the AD to buy a milgauss blue they ordered it in so i could see it .as i looked in the window before going in to view the millgaus i saw the air king and loved it..went i viewed both together the air king screamed out for me to buy it.i loved the dial the none shine center link ..was not till i got home with the watch that I looked it up i found it has the milgauss case workings ..and bracelet the link to the bloodhound world speed car clocks...am i happy with my purchase i am delighted..and as a bonus i did buy a milguass that day ..as a bonus it was a bargainice £1500 cheaper than the blue one .. with better dial and charactor..that could appreciate in the future..i love the watch it reminds me of an old English Smiths w10 military watch only bigger and better.....if you see one of these watches in real life you will love it..a future classic...

I loved them both. I chose milgauss because I work in medical science. If I was a pilot I’d have chosen te AK. They are both very classy watches and I think their design is less blingy and more modern than the rest of the range. They also both look far better in real life than on a photo. Go try.

Between the two I'd go with the AirKing.

Would you buy AK if you already have the Explorer and Milgauss? I am having a tough time finding an AK to try. I really like the look and price point to get into a Rolex.

Air King

Air King a hundred times! The average age of a Rolex owner is 68! Omega owners are in their 30's. This is terrible for Rolex as their market will literally die out in 20 years. I'm 32. millennials don't want something their Grandad would have worn 30 years ago. Air King is the future. The other Rolex's look old fashioned to anyone under 50!

In 10 years people are in their 20's and 30's now will be willing to pay big money for an Air King.

I would choose neither because they both look a little quirky. However, Explorer (Mk2) would be a good option for you, IMHO.

get yourself an 14000, 14010 or 5500 Airking, those are great under the radar pieces. The new one is soon ugly!

Can't go wrong with the milgauss. It has all the workings to make it a potential cult classic once discontinued.

Blue z milgauss will receive more compliments from strangers than any other watch. So if that is not for you than go with the latter.

The new AirKing really isn't selling well even with the shortage of other models. I would pass on it.

Milgauss. The most interesting Rolex and it lives under the radar.
