Thanks very much. Well I loved the new AK that I bought but just something kept it in the box and not on my wrist. However I wasn't planning to flip it until I saw this model being shared on a jewellers page as a new arrival. It was a 16710 and I've been admiring them for some time. They talked of how mint it was so I got on the phone instantly to inquire about it. I was lucky to reserve it as they had several calls and Facebook queries on the watch that very same day and I sat back knowing I'd reserved it subject to seeing it.

They offered a fair price for the AK and it was easier for me to find the balance than pay the whole amount and keep the AK.

Today I drove to North England to see the watch and it was everything I hoped.

Pleasure!! And yes I'm absolutely delighted.

This has a different feel to the BLNR and I'll enjoy wearing both.

Congrats Nairn! That's a great find, they're getting harder and harder to find in good condition. Is this your first five-digit model? Gotta love that comfort, right?

Many thanks indeed.

Yes, it was hard to find. I see countless with no papers or no original box. Also many are on the scruffy side too. To me, no box or papers makes me wonder why. This has everything plus had the benefit of being mint too.

It's my first 5 digit for a while, and Ive owned a non Ceramic SD and a non Ceramic LV Sub in the past.

I loves watches with a splash of colour and this definitely delivers.

Great!!! I'm far from an expert but if you need some assistance give me a shout. I'd definitely advise to look look and look more and find the best example you can.

I paid a lot for mine, especially considering some of the rough/no box/papers examples that are cheaper.

However as they say "quality remains long after price is forgotten" and I try and use that every time I buy something.

Thanks, lights hit it this morning and it had that sparkle of a brand new Rolex. I'm so pleased with it and plan to wear it, but really look after it and keep it looking great.

Let's hope it looks this good in another 17 years

Incoming!!!

One of the many great things about SS models is their durability. I've been wearing mine for 6 months and it looks like the day I got it. It's from 2000. Most folks love the faded bezel inserts but I bought a Rolex replacement insert to freshen it up and make it look newer.

Beauty!

I would suggest turning it into a coke. Enjoy it!

It looks like yours has the solid end links?
Is it an A serial? Mine is A7***** and has the non SEL.

When I bought it they said it's keeping good time and their Rolex trained technician serviced it (they're an ex-Rolex AD). However in about 6 hours it's gained close to 5 seconds which isn't great.

I know there's the self regulating so at night it'll go in the position with crown up to lose a few seconds and see how that works out.

If it's gained 5 seconds in 6 hours it sounds like it's not running within COSC despite what they said when I bought it.

Seems I'll have to keep an eye on its timing and it could need to go in for regulating.

Any advice here?
