Thank you Peter for taking the time to impart your vast knowledge and experience to all.
I am a newcomer here and have only posted once, although I have very much enjoyed this site for a couple of years. I have definitely learnt a lot in that time, including a lot from your many posts. In June I purchased my first Rolex, an EXPLORER 1. I love this watch and enjoy it every day. Best wishes for continued good health. I am of a similar vintage to yourself, and hope I can also enjoy this wonderful hobby for many moons. Cheers |

Trouble today many are more interested in Mk1, Mk2, Mk3, dials, tiny so called imperfections, will this go up or down if I buy this or that.Afraid many today not interested in the real reason for the TRF, its Rolex trivialities and moaning about these trivialities today. So today the history of the RWC is far down the line of importance, Rolex watches are no longer watches they are just thought of as little more than $$$$$$$$$$£££££££££££.

Thanks for sharing - always fascinating the non linear course to success some companies (and people) have.

Or you can highlight all the text, right clip and COPY. then open up microsoft word, push control + V at the same time or just right click again and paste, highlight if needed again and you can increase the font size. |

Bro,,, thanks for the advice. You are indeed thoughtful and kind like most people here. When reading our forum and other forum too, I am only using either my iPad and iPhone + via Tapatalk which is easier and more convenient. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Peter, I was a bit put off by the shear volume of text. On the other hand, the information and story was engrossing. Reading it was no issue. Thanks so much for putting it together. I hope your health improves!!!

Thanks for that bit of Rolex history! I love a good back story and as a former diver I've always been fascinated by the COMEX story. When I first got interested in Rolex watches I thought I'd just pick up a COMEX model. You know, just spend a couple hundred extra dollars over the price of a new Rolex Sea Dweller or Submariner and get the COMEX. Yeah, right!! :)

Thanks! Good read.
And I am glad I was able to come around today and see this post and read it, before it disappears out of sight into the nth page.

Afraid you cannot say in a few words the history of the RWC although Hans Wilsdorth were not watchmakers he wanted the best for his company. And now Rolex makes one of the finest mechanical movements and watches made today.
