Lady DJ 26 buzzing noise

My wife's 3yo lady DJ 26 sounds like it has recently developed a buzzing noise when shaken gently.
When this occurs, there's also some sort of vibration being felt as if the mainspring unwinds or the rotor spins at high speed. However this doesn't seem to be the case as the power reseve is still at about 50 hrs and the watch keeps decent time, too. Hand winding also feels a bit rough but I could be wrong about it
So before I take the obvious trip to RSC, does this sound familiar to anyone? Any insight greatly appreciated.

Your issue is the automamtic work. It is very possible that the axle is worn and gummed up with an oil - steel particle mix. It is very common as the axles eat up oil like there is no tomorrow.

Alternatively, the automatic work could have been over lubricated, and the oil has 'creeped' where it shouldn't have. Either way, the watch needs an overhaul.

It is a very common problem though. I have seen it many, many times when repairing them under warranty.

Hi Ashton,

Thank you for your thoughts. I let it wind down completely and the power reseve is at 57 hours.
Gave it a gentle shalke while stopped and got the same buzzing and vibration so it does sound like a worn axle with possible metal particles and lubricant mix.
I'm sending it in to RSC Athens.
Hope this one gets sorted under warranty (fingers crossed)

It should definitely be fixed under warranty if it is the rotor axle failing.

Update...

It's the rotor axle indeed. But it will only need some cleaning and lubrication. RSC Athens is taking care of it under warranty with just a week turnaround.
Thanks everyone and thank you, Rolex
