Day-Date day wheel 3055 / 3155 / 3255 clarification

Hi All,

I have a quick question I'm hoping some of the experts may be able to chime in & help with.

Is the day wheel font & size from a 3055 movement, the same across newer reference Day-Dates such as the 3155, 3255 ?

Some background to the query - I recently purchased a day wheel that I believed to be for an 18038 with 3055 movement. On installation, the day wheel fits the movement but the font does not fit the window in the dial. Its slightly larger and justified too low, so the bottom of the text is cut off by the window.

The seller is adamant that the day wheel is authentic and is correct for the Day-Date model 3055 / 3155 movement.

I'd like to give the seller the benefit of the doubt, but I am suspecting that the day wheel I've purchased is either aftermarket or has been reprinted.

I'd just like to have a better idea whether its possible that the newer reference Day-Dates have slightly larger windows, or the alignment is slightly different than on the 18038 - which would result in compatibility issues installing a newer reference day wheel into an 18038. It may be the case that the day wheel I've purchased is not for an 18038 and rather a newer reference.

My prior understanding is that the day wheel for 3055, 3155, and 3255 should all be the same & compatible with the dial for their respective references.

Forgive the long post, hope my meaning is clear. Pics included.

Thanks!

Answer & clarification has been received via PM.

For anyone who may have a similar query; in summary the 3055 / 3155 do not have interchangeable day-wheels, only interchangeable date-wheels.

Cheers all

Yes, different calibers, thus different day and date wheels. They are not interchangeable.
