Dads Red Sub packed up for trip to AZ
Im starting this Thread to document the journey of my dads red sub, 1969,
to Ridley in Mesa, AZ. It and a 1946 Oyster he bought at the Tokyo PX in 1946 is also included. Both are bubble wrapped and triple boxed and taped. I will drop off at 10AM tomorrow morn at the Fed-Ex store just down the street for Priority overnight. This to me is the scary part of the entire journey. I trust Phil, Just not the shipping process. Im forced to wear an old gold Omega Seamaster. Keeps darn good time. Will keep this sit posted on all turns of events. Been 53 years without a Rolex on my left wrist. best, Mike Last edited by GMBorkovic; 11 July 2022 at 08:19 AM.. Reason: expand |

I appreciate that you are trying to participate, but as noted previously, it's not much of a documentation without photos.

Dan, sorry about no pics. I dont have access to a camera. Im not having any cosmetic
procedures performed. All work is being done on the movement. No external welding, polishing or buffing. I like all the little scratches and rubs. best, Mike |

My red sub has a tendency to be a bit pushy. Who is going to get the pick of the litter?
The relationship would bare some interesting hybrids. I hope Phil keeps them far apart. Or not. |

Phil and I are on the same page referencing this service trip. No exterior cosmetic work.
Just movement clean and adjustment and best attempt to achieving -2/+2 sec/day. Any way, that is my target. Its a vintage red-sub and all moving parts wear. Mike |
