Happened to me today post Basel

So I Haven't bought a watch from a Brick and Mortar AD in the last 7 or 8 years, and the last couple that I did buy were from a guy I had at a dealer in another city. There is a shop right down the street that I pass by every day and haven't dropped in on in years. Well, the urge struck me today as I have been jonesing for a blue dial DJ41 (smooth/Jubilee) which they didn't have - but what they did have was an 116710LN - I know it's the one nobody likes and it's not hard to get in most places, etc, but I tried it on and it was a done deal. Walked out with the box in a bag. Haven't worn it yet, still sitting in its box with me sneaking a peek every now and again. Definitely a day that did not suck.

So I suppose I can't post the image since I don't have the post count yet!

Congrats on the GMT LN! Given the reference was just discontinued this week, I think you very much lucked out on picking one up!

Not trying to step on any toes or troll for sure, new guy here and just an enthusiast. Looks to me like all the hype is on the other bezel configurations. Hope this post isn't out of line, just a little elated and came here to post as it was one of those lucky things that I never seem to be the beneficiary of.

Congrats!! This was my first Rolex and the 116710 LN is awesome. I don’t like half black bezel GMTs so who cares about what others on the forums say :D

Congrats! I've owned my GMTIIC for 10 years. I think it's the best GMT they made. I love the green text and 24H hand. Will never sell it and really don't like the BLNR.

Before the bi-color bezels - the GMTIIC was very much loved on this forum.

Seems inevitable, and I wonder if it's only delayed so Rolex can focus on getting BLNRs and BLROs into people's hands.

I'm hoping the new version loses the green accents. That's one part of the LN I never cared for.

Great find and fortunate find particularly with it being discontinued. Seems the entire supply in the grey world has been pulled anticipating a price increase and you got it at an AD.

They told me they had just gotten it a couple of days ago, and of course that it was on a "soft" hold for someone else but they had not followed up. I just found out the other Rolex dealer here has the same watch in their case as well. They also had a red Sea Dweller and a no date Sub in the case.

I need to make a few random posts to get to the requisite 10 so I can post a pic. I think this is number 4.
