Discoloration on Gold Bezel
Hi,
My GMT 2C TT has a discoloration on the bezel. I was wondering if this has happened to other members with gold watches. I tried using cape cod cloth to bring the color back but no luck. The discoloration is on the 18 number 8. This really is a minor discoloration . Thanks |

Have you tried washing it with soap and water with toothbrush?

I am looking at it but unable to determine what it is you are talking about. All I can see really is sort of a streak in the right hand photo. If you are referring to the red color that is on the right bottom of the 8,, I do see that and do not know what that is. Sorry, I do not have a gold Rolex to compare it too. I wonder if it is some kind of chemical reaction leftover from the original heating process when the bezel was made. Interesting though. Hope someone has the answer for you.

You may need to use degreaser and a brush. Otherwise it should gradually fade (if it is indeed oil).

I noticed I get smudges and stains on the bezel occasionally, but they come off with a watch cleaner pretty easily. I also shower with my watch on before cleaning... the steam seems to help.
