Congrats, it's a great watch and you got it at a great discount.

I had a similar discount (in excess of 22% off today's US List) for my Black Bay on leather. I bought it at a slight discount in Germany, and then retrieved the built-in 19% VAT by cutting the VAT refund papers directly with the jeweler, instead of using the services at the airport that take a cut. I ended up getting it at just under $2400 US after exchange rate, VAT refund, etc.
I got about a 19% discount on my Black Bay on bracelet from an AD in Belgium after VAT refund. It was $2800.

I was finally able to see a black bay on a leather strap in person today. I was completely blown away by the design and quality. It literally looks 100 times better in person than any picture I've seen on the internet.
On the web I hated the look of the snowflake hour hand. In person it looks classy with the gold trim. At $3100 msrp, it is a no brainer. The only problem ( for me) is that it is VERY noticeable. My wife will figure out that I have a new watch as soon as I wear it. So am going to have to beg for permission before I buy

It's always easier to ask for forgiveness than to beg for permission. Go pull the trigger first...

Very nice! I would love to see it in the wild someday. BTW how much is the leather strap and clasp if bought separately?

I like your thinking. Fortunately the Mrs. gave the OK last night. I think she did so because she knows that I've been lusting after the Blue dial YM and she thinks that if I buy the BB I won't get the YM.
So foolish on her part.

Buy the watch, hide it under some bushes in your yard, go ask your wife to take a walk with you outside, pretend you notice something shiny hidden in the grasses, go check it out, pick up the watch, do your best to smile and eyes wide open, give your best "surprise" look of your facial expression, jump up and down, tell your wife she is your lucky charm that you have found a new watch, tell her finder's keepers, problem solved.

Congrats! I just picked one up too! Tudor nailed the classy/vintage styling on this one.

It's too late, Larry. I just looked out the window and saw your money heading to your nearest AD. You might as well follow it there.

Something similar happened with me. I casually asked my AD if they had a BB in stock and they replied no. I left it at that but several weeks later, they rang to say one had arrived, and would I like to see it?

The rest, as they say, is history.
