Rolex 1665 Double Red MK IV help needed

Hi all,

I would like to know if the MK IV DRSD 5.2m should have the serial number engraved inside the caseback?

Thanks!

Yep.
DRSDs had serial numbers into the 5.2 range and I believe all had the serial number or last three digits inside the case back

With that serial number it’d likely be 1977-78 timeframe and I’ve seen those for sale with s/n engraved inside the caseback.

What do you think about these two?
The first one seems to have weird-looking numbers engraved between the lugs and the second one does not have serial numbers engraved inside the case back.

And what bezel insert should a DRSD 5.2m have? A MK III fat font insert is accetable?

Do your own research as well mate.
Check out drsd.com and do searches here and at VRF.

If I was in the market for another drsd it would have to have the serial # in the case back.

It says its Sold !

I didn't think watches from 78 came with 9315 bracelets and when I took expert opinion when buying mine I was advised to avoid buying anything without a serial number in the back . When I asked why I was told it will always cause questions about authenticity

But I also think HQMiltons know there watches

Have a search on www.drsd.com this may help http://www.drsd.com/watch-info/doubl...casebacks.html

Hi, as you see I'm not the only one advising you to do a thorough study here and "elsewhere".

Yes, study and research mean everything in vintage Rolex.
