Great way to look at it!!

Unfortunately here is what's going down, downunder! List price from Rolex on the 116500LN is AUD $15,700, but if you want one now, OUCH! http://www.watchtime.com.au/product/...18-box-papers/

Rolex aren’t and can’t make any more original 1970’s watches... without question, keep the red!

you need to get cash back if you were to do it. Complete set Red Subs are very popular and expensive.

It will depend on what you looking for ... which one pleases you most and what is your prospect of appreciation in both. A while ago I had a Heuer Monaco 1133b, gorgeous, that I never wore, it lived in the box. One day I decided to negotiate on a daytona 116520, today I know it was the best thing I did, i always use and really enjoy my daytona.

what ya got there? a full set mk6?

looks to be a stunner. If you think $23-25k is worth it for a modern Daytona, then go for it.

Personally, I would never ever do it.

I think you’ll regret this trade. As other have mentioned, you’ll always be able to get your hands on a Daytona.

I would do it, then again, I'm not into vintage watches.

Seems like you are.

Keep the red sub. Figure out another way to get a new Daytona. I just see the red sub climbing more in time.

The red sub is so rare and IMO worth much more that the Daytona in $ value too. i'd defiantly keep it if it were my choice.

Red sub: appreciating asset in 10 yrs
Daytona: possibly a depreciating asset in 10 yrs.

Your choice.
