Thanks all for the great comments
Watch is on route back to me and I expect it Monday/Tuesday so will get some better pics up then and my thoughts on durability etc. To answer a few why change it questions I have no issues with the OEM 114060 it's a great watch, however IMO opinion it is shadowed by the 116600 which to me is the ultimate ceramic dive watch! One plus of the 114060 over the 116600 is I like how the maxi case sits with a nato strap the wider lugs suit it more then compared to on bracelet. In a one watch or only dive watch sitution I would of left the 114060 alone but as I have the 116600 which lives on the oyster bracelet it suits so well this gave me the opportunity to give the 114060 a more tool watch look without taking that modern submariner look away from it! Hence why I didn't thin the lugs or add chamfers etc. My styling was more aimed at the Pelagos then the 14060. |

It looks great. I'd love to see it done to a SDC which has the matte dial also.

I have had it side by side with my 116600 and the contrast is still present, the 116600 dial is not a true matte finish its satin, in most viewing angles they look very similar. |

Thanks. So are the mods finished on this watch or have you anything else planned?

Here's a few side by side of my 114060 & 116600
This one does show the 116600 satin dial but it still doesn't match the insert Also I have tried to scratch the insert with my nail and a cocktail stick and it doesn't mark, for obvious reasons I'm going to try a full on scratch test just in case, to be honest I was worried about the scratch resistance but more the matte finish showing finger prints etc which it doesn't! |

Again I'd like to give Edvi and the crew at ABC a big thumbs up for the superb work!
Even under close scrutiny the refinished ceramic insert is flawless. We are already discussing my next project |

That's very nice how much did it cost and where did you get it done?

Then I exchanged a few emails with Edvi and decided they will be responsible for the next step, a previous refinished insert pic was sent to me and within 48 hours my watch was heading off to LA! Anyone wanting to copy this mod it would a lot easier just getting ABC to do the complete package (actually while there they refinished my case back I had the previous watchmaker leave and that finish again is an exact match) You will need to email Edvi to get a quote for the complete work but I would expect it to be around £300-500 work depending and once you add in shipping there and back. |

After a full day testing at the kiddies indoor play house I can happily say the insert holds up very well
I can't see it being any less resilient then the OEM finish. It also doesn't show up fingers and water marks like I thought the matte finish might do. Only problem is it how in direct competition with my 116600 for wrist time, but mind you that's not a bad 1st world problem having two great watches to choose between. |

That is a fantastic mod, one which many SubC owners have fantasized about. Well done! Enjoy it, and thanks for sharing with us.

SC11, the watch looks great. Do you know if ABC are able to thin the lugs aswell?

Have you seen any pictures of the thinned lugs? I'd be interested to see what it looks like. Thanks.
