SD43 owners..would you swap your SD43 for any other SS professional sports model? If

I was pondering my little collection today and it occurred to me that I don’t Think there is any other SS sports model that I would swap my SD43 for. Sure, I’m in the market for an SS sky-dweller, but if I had to swap a piece out to make room it would be the Deepsea blue. The Daytona is to small on my wrist so unless something miraculous happens with new releases I think my 43 will remain my favourite for a long time to come. Is there a piece you would swap for your SD43 and why?

No, definitely not. But a new SS Pepsi would really round out my collection

Love my Hulk and am never giving it up. I would never trade it for a SD43 but that is just me.

Instead I have ordered an SD43 to add to my collection should I like it once it comes in.

I really liked this watch but passed on it. If I didn't already have a sub and a DSSD then this would be the one to replace those two. I found the size really to be "perfect" and with the cyclops it was also perfection.

So if I had this watch and not my others then no I would not. I don't and had the chance to add it, I didn't.

I love the SD43 but actually prefer the D-Blue if I was forced to choose a favorite SS model.

I think the SD43 strikes a good balance for me. It is not as technically advanced as the Deepsea (and usually I am a sucker for that kind of stuff, I have Seiko tunacan, etc.), but I think it is a lot more versatile. I don't feel out of place when I wear my SD43 w/ shirt (and it fits under the sleeves pretty easily), so I think it is a good compromise.. more "tool" like / technically advanced compared to the smaller Sub, but not quite as all out tool watch as the Deepsea.

That said, I look forward to seeing the new updated Deepsea, as they have now fixed the main issue I had with that watch (the bracelet size).

No way, SD43 is a forever watch. Best Rolex diver and possibly the best SS sport model

I did go through a period of bracelet adjustment and getting used to it, but now it feels much like my GMT.

Anniversary SD43 is a collectible piece of art. Not for swap, flip or sale.

No way. I have a sky and blnr and my sd43 would be the last one to go if I needed to make room for something else!!

Owned the SD43 for awhile but eventually sold it for a Hulk. SD43 is a fantastic watch and well proportioned, but in the end I prefer the way a Sub feels on the wrist. I would have kept the SD43 is I had unlimited watch funds though

Personally I would (and did) trade it. It's all hype imho. yes there are some nice upgrades but the other models will catchup in time. it's too bulky for most but hey, 2 each their own. 40mm models will always be my cup of tea.

Nope. If Rolex ever comes out with a sub xl (same diameter but thinner/not quite as tall) that will fit under my cuffs, I’ll add it but I would keep the SD43 for the weekends.

Would only swap if I felt the SD43 was too large for my wrist. If that is not an issue, there is no better Rolex sports model in existence IMHO. It is near perfection - but again depending on wrist size it's not for everyone

Well, it wouldn't be for a single watch but I'd give it up for a Submariner and a James Cameron. Obviously, that doesn't add up monetarily at all hence why I don't have the other combo.

That way I'd have a more conservative, smaller watch for daily use and then could use the James Cameron as a fun weekend watch. James Cameron is my favorite watch but it's just too big to be rocking all the time.

That being said, I don't think I can ever go back to the Sub's square super case. It may wear very well but it just doesn't look right. I'd have to go with a 5 digit or wait for an updated model.

The SD43 is perfection for what it is. It was the perfect middle ground between the Sub and Deepsea. The proportions are so good.

I’m with you on this. The square supercase is just no longer an option, especially where the SD43 is available with essentially a 5 digit case design but larger.

These are today's hot Rolex SS models

Daytona c
Pepsi Blro
SkyD
Hulk
D-Blue
Blnr
Sd43

Out of them the SD43 ranks the lowest in my shopping list. It's size is too big as a daily wearer and the dial is too boring as a weekend watch.

If next year there will be a new sub then the sd43 will drop further in my list

Looks good on your wrist size, i would keep it. Plus it is the perfect dive watch.

Something to keep in mind about the SD43 is that it will likely have a short run similar to 16610LV and will be highly collectible in the future IMHO.

Dial does play with the light pretty well. Sure, it is a Matte Black but when it hits the sunlight then it gets a tropical effect and the red font pops out. In indoor lighting, it can almost look like a Sub dial.

Everyone has their preferences though.

Black sub looks boring too but at least its size is right. I will wait and see how the new sub will look like and decide

On a day like today, you need a sunburst dial, we have had so much crap weather for 6 months that when you get just about the best April day ever you need to make it count!
