Hey looks wicked mate. I’m the same as you, I wouldn’t swap my SD43 for any SS sports model. I would add the sky dweller to my small collection but as far as the Daytona c and Pepsi I have little to no interest at all. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I have absolutely zero interest in a Daytona, never did a thing for me. Skydweller to me looks like a large Datejust with a fancier complication, not very appealing either. But for many, guy here in this thread included, my guess is he wants it because they are sought after. I personally think the new Pepsi looks like ass with the Jubliee, mixing dress with sport and I do not like it one bit. Had it been on oyster or had the ability to swap for one, I may have been interested. But alas..... Rolex would never do that! |

I don't think I would. It fills the black diver niche really well in my stable.
Now, as to not offend anyone, I'm not saying it's the best steel model available. Not at all. But...I'm pretty happy with my steel state of the collection right now. It's a little diver heavy, sure, but then again, that's my comfort zone. So, I could see a Sky-D sneaking its way in at some point, but I don't think I would flip for it. Notice I did use the word "think". |

To me the SD43 is everything I want in a sports Rolex watch, it trumps them all, so I wouldn't swap for any other sports steel model.

This should be re-titled the SD43 Appreciation Thread or alternatively--"SD43 is the GOAT"

With my 8 in. wrist, my SD43 complements my YG YM2 perfectly.
The wider bracelet on the SD43 makes it much more easier/comfortable to wear than a the current version of the DSSD. |

I’m enjoying this watch very much and can’t see trading it at any point. I’ve really enjoyed my 16600 and Kermit for well over a decade now and will continue to do so. But if I had to go with only one pro this would be the one.

It's what I did. Very happy with the decision but BLNR is a beaut! SD43 just kills it on every level for me. I know its a small change but that single red lettering makes this watch amazing! This coming from someone who never really looked at buying an SD before. The proportions as well are quite perfect and the matte black dial that changes in the light :D! Definitely, my favorite sports Rolex at the moment with the Daytona C (white dial). The sky D blue dial is really nice but I have to agree that it does look like a date just 41 on steroids which is great but not something I'd give up my SD43 for.

Now the SD43 has the thickness, weight, bracelet (glide lock) and wrist presence that I was looking for. But in my opinion it is not for everyone. It took me a solid 2 months + to get used to wearing it. Not because it's TOO big or TOO heavy, it's just a big jump from what I was used to with the older GMT. In my mind it works best for people with 7" or greater wrists and for people who find the Sub/GMT current lineup to be too small for them. As for the watch itself, it is just amazing. The weight balance is terrific. It's heavy but does not flop around due to the balance and the wider bracelet. The dial and bezel are as close to perfect as Rolex have ever produced. It's a stunning model without being obnoxious in the process. It just looks like a tool watch but it's a work of art at the same time. At the end of the day I'm very happy I made the trade. I wound up getting nearly $2,000 more in trade for the GMT than I paid for it only a few years ago. So all comes down to size I think. If you want a larger, bolder, (hate to use the word yet again but) robust model, the SD43 is the way to go. If you prefer 40mm and a lighter, smaller watch the new GMT's are pretty damn nice. |

Nope. The SD43 is the favourite Rolex I own.
I don’t have the SkyD - and it is a magnificent piece - and that is the only one that could challenge the SD43 for me |

Love the SD43 so no. I may add a new DSSD if I can get one at MSRP.

Totally different watches. I own them both and I wouldn’t substitute one for another. They feel, look and function totally differently. You should add the Sky D to your Sea D Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

For me the SD43 is a no go. It has nothing to do with hate. I'm certain I'd love it if it were a smaller diameter. With a 6.5in. wrist the watch is just too large for me. For me the discontinued SD4KC is just perfect in every way even if it doesn't have red on the dial.

The plan is definitely to add one. I was checking out a SkyD Blue at a grey dealer today, and it really is a great piece |
