Incoming yet another 36MM AP!

Good day gents!

As they say, when it rains, it pours!!!

As a long time AP lover, I have been so smitten by the blue 14790 when I finally took the plunge. The size, symmetry, refined size and beautiful look, I had to jump on the white one when the chance came up.

Had to get on a 4 hour flight as the seller doesn't ship, but it was definitely worth it.

Has seen tons of love clearly, but remains in incredibly sharp condition.

An early D series white 14790 with long tritium indices, straight text "audemars piguet", and came with box and papers too!
I may choose to brush the bezel at some point in the future, but I wouldn't dare touch the case personally, the wear on it doesn't bother me.

Will let the pictures do some talking!

Thanks gents!
I think a gentle brush on the bezel will bring the watch back to its glory.
Considering its from 1996, normally they are over polished and sloppy.
Very happy with the example!

Beautiful white dial.

Want to share my white jumbo too. They are similar but yet so different.

And slightly bigger and thicker Brother from other brand.

Such a beautiful dial, the way it changes to broken white in the first pictures.

If I decide to get one, how would I know if it isn't a fake or is the chance on a 14790 being fake really small?

Thank you! I'd definitely leave the edges of the case as they are, and simply light brush of the bezel sometime in the future. Once I have REALLY worn it well though.

I'm sure there are faked ones, but I haven't seen any good fake ones. Nothing that you could confuse to be legit. Under a loupe the tritium is very easy to identify if you are a vintage guy.
I always do my due diligence with "buying the seller", as well as cross checking with some AP experts. I hope you find yours! It is truly an incredible reference.

Thank you!
I really couldn’t pull off a 39MM AP even if I wanted to, and I tried many times.
My wrist size are just a touch above 6”

Same here! My wrist is around 6 inches (even less during cold weather) and everyone's always incredulous when I say that the jumbo is too big for me. I can pull off plenty of other 39mm watches, but with the RO the lug to lug is too long and the bracelet flares out too much. Luckily I have my 15450 which I love

Very nice. Nice photos as well. I recently acquired my first AP, a 14800ST, with a black dial. The booklet is stamped 1995 and service papers are dated 2012 and 2015. I am the second owner. I dropped it off at the AP boutique here in LV, NV. It will have a complete service. Neither the sales executive nor myself wanted a polish performed, the case and bezel are blemish free. This model is the first RO that came on a strap.
