Polished Center Links on Submariner Bracelet

I’m considering having the center links on my Submariner (black bezel / date) polished to look like a GMT or WG Sub bracelet. Dress up the look of the sporty watch. There’s a couple of very reputable shops that can easily do this work. What are your thoughts? Anyone on the forums had it done it? Any pictures?

If you like the look, go for it! There is someone here that did it and threw on a blue bezel to boot! I Forget their username.

I’d like to see you do it and post a subsequent thread asking how to get rid of them.

Can’t you just polish with your Vicuna socks?

I'll sell you a PCL bracelet made for GMTs / DJs that you can just throw on your sub- problem solved.

hmm most people try to go the other way.

The PCLs really get banged up from daily use.

LOL there’s so much negativity towards this idea! There’s already a Submariner that has polished center links and every GMT has them too! Surprised more people don’t want it on their Subs…

Right, that’s the downside to it… I have a major OCD for scratches lol. I just think the PCLs make a watch look more substantial… can’t explain it…

Can I polish?

What am I, a bloody blacksmith in 15c England?

I tell my people to get me what I want and they make it happen!

Now ask me if I walk to my well to draw some water, and then into the forest for wood to burn for my hot bath.

This is a Rolex Forum! We should at least pretend we’re not peasants.

Perhaps. Keep in mind that you can easily go from brushed to PCL back to brushed.

Agree, but I hate the large numbers on the GMT bezel!
I’m still trying to understand why everyone’s hating on the black sub with polished center links when there is already a sub made with PLCs…

people are hating because it becomes a "modified" sub and most here are purists. i'm not a fan either as it would look fake and i prefer things as they come from the factory. i think the YM was made for what you're looking to achieve

That makes sense. Just unfortunate that if I wanted a factory Sub with PCLs (Yacht Master) I have to pay significantly more for the same watch. I can have the brushed center links, polished for around $250.00.

Meh… It can be reversed if you don’t like it. IMO, it will look like a counterfeit model to most people that recognize Rolex because the SS Sub is so iconic.

True, the gold 126618LN has this. Personally I hate PCLs, but its not like the look is without precedence on a sub.

Polished Center Links on Submariner Bracelet

Do what you want.

Don’t get the negativity towards it - the stainless submariner is the only one that is brushed - two tone and gold have polished center links.

Looks great on the GMT and Daytona…

Oh and as far as it looking counterfeit- that’s an even better reason to do it in todays society.

OP, it is your timepiece so do what makes YOU happy. Some hate guys like me using rubber straps, others polish (or unpolish / brush) their center links, etc. Still we might find others putting the CHNR Rootbeer on a brown bund cuff. And then there are others....

More Happiness

PS: Rolex should start offering both PCL and non-PCL Oyster bracelets. Adding a nice selection of black and colored rubber straps would be highly welcome too imho.
