How many visits to and AD before...

You can bring up the subject of a Submariner?

Also is it best to take a gift?

Asking for a friend, so please don't judge me.

Apologies for all the questions, but my friend also wants to know how you can tell if your AD is mad at you and after how many weeks it is OK to start a relationship with a new AD.

Thanks in advance and have a great weekend

I would wait until near closing time and set the mood with candles and a bouquet of roses. Read their body language and you'll know when it's the right time.

That would depend on whether your heart skips a beat when you see a Rolex sign or billboard.

I treat my AD just like any other shop I walk into, Rolexes, Burgers etc. If it wasn't for us customers they wouldn't exist.

They don't often have any Sport Watches so we aren't important to them these days.

Who cares what AD thinks. We are not kids anymore... There is no hidden rules to ask questions at the store. For goodness sake, it's only a watch store...like any other store. :) Without customers, they're nobody.

Just stop by and tell them how nice they look and what wonderful people they are, then tell them they smell nice, once a week. Do that for about 6 months. Then buy 4 datejusts and a pearlmaster. And then maybe it's ok to ask about a sport Rolex.

I can tell you have been in the "game" for a long time. Thanks for posting.

I was unsure whether flowers might be a little over the top, thanks for clearing this up. I will advise my friend.

On average, how many TAGs do you have to buy before they allow you to graduate to a Datejust?

I didn’t know anything about watch shortages last year or even much about Rolex. Went in, first time in the store and asked to see a Submariner and the GMT. They showed me the GMT LN due to no Submariners available to purchase (they had one already spoken for) and then I decided to get the GMT. Love the watch. Then I started reading this forum, you all have lost your minds... sorry.

You can bring up the subject of a Submariner? Once you know your AD on a first name basis, the names of his wife and kids, when you have invited your AD and his family to your home for dinner once or twice, once you have had a round or two of golf with your AD, (let him win), then you are on your way to bringing up the Submariner. The next step is to buy at least $20.000 worth of jewelry and a Datejust or two. After this you can bring up the Sub. (Don't even think about mentioning a Hulk, Daytona or Pepsi. That will take far more work.)

Is it best to take a gift!?!?! Don't even think about walking into your AD without a gift, going in without a gift is like going into all out war without a gun, or wandering the streets of Bangkok without protection. Don't even think about it.

How can you tell if an AD is mad at you? Just assume that he will be mad, mad as hell if you do not follow the rules above.

Step 1) state your horror at the grey market for SS models
Step 2) state you would only ever pay MSRP for anything and not a penny more ever ever
Step 3) make 100 visits to an AD
Step 4) buy the AD £500 of gifts
Step 5) buy a load of watches and jewelry you never had any intention or interest in buying
Step 6) wait on a list for 6 months
Step 7) enjoy your MSRP watch
Step 8) do not do an analysis of how the cost and time invested in getting the watch at MSRP this way compares to the grey market prices you could have bought the watch for 12 months previously.

Have to agree next we will asked if we got to kiss a ADs feet before trying to buy a commodity like a watch with all these posts lately I wonder if Rolex actually sell watches.

It’s a real shame this is the way it often goes - I was able to get a BLNR in 3 months at MRSP after accompanying my mother in law when she bought two classic pieces for my wife and sister in law. Haven’t got anything since (about a 1yr 1/2 now) and tried to get on the SS Pepsi waiting list - no chance, back to square 1 *bangshead*

The post was in jest, guys. The fact that a few members weren't sure if I was joking or being serious just shows in what a poor state of affairs we currently are.

RJRJRJ certainly got it

Sounds like you are asking a doctor about a potential STI issue.

For some reason I keep hearing that Cialis ad in my head.

Good one...but it took me 1 visit to ask for a BLNR and another a week later to pick it up. Hadn't been in an AD for 20 years since buying my first DJ

That might not be a bad idea. Take a Cialis before entering the AD. They may give you whatever you want to get rid of you
